Benchling ELN Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Benchling ELN Engineer to join the Process Development Team at Gilead Sciences. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the Benchling Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) platform. You will bridge the gap between complex scientific workflows and digital infrastructure, ensuring our lab systems are optimized, validated, and performant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Platform Configuration:

Configure and maintain Benchling ELN to meet specific user and functional requirements.

• Workflow Automation:

Develop custom workflows and system integrations to enhance lab efficiency, leveraging your deep understanding of scientific workflows.

• Reporting \& Data:

Build and maintain dashboards and custom label reports leveraging

Bartender

software.

• Compliance:

Ensure system compliance by adhering to

Computer System Validation (CSV)

best practices and SDLC principles.

• System Support:

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide technical documentation for lab stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a life science-related field.

• Experience:

2\+ years of experience (inclusive of internships) in implementing and configuring

Benchling ELN

.

• Domain Expertise:

Proven experience working in a

biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device

environment.

• Technical Skills:

Strong programming proficiency in

Python, JavaScript, or Java

.

• Hardware/Labeling:

Hands-on experience with

Zebra printers

and barcoding technologies.

• Validation:

Solid understanding of

Computer System Validation (CSV)

within a highly regulated industry.

• Soft Skills:

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
