Job Description
The SEO Manager is responsible for leading the SEO Campaign Management team while also directly managing a portfolio of client accounts. This role ensures strong team performance, consistent service delivery, high-quality campaign execution, and measurable client outcomes across both assigned accounts and the broader department. The SEO Manager directly manages team members, owns team-level KPIs, and is accountable for maintaining client performance, service quality, operational consistency, and internal service standards. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with SEO operational experience, excellent accountability, and the ability to balance hands-on portfolio management with team leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
● Manage the day-to-day performance of the SEO Campaign Management team.
● Directly manage an assigned portfolio of SEO client accounts, including campaign performance, service quality, reporting accuracy, client readiness, and strategic execution.
● Set priorities, staffing plans, workload expectations, and service-level standards.
● Ensure department KPIs \& OKRs, turnaround times, quality benchmarks, and SLA expectations are met.
● Monitor assigned client accounts for performance trends, delivery risks, service gaps, and opportunities for strategic improvement.
● Conduct coaching sessions, performance reviews, accountability conversations, and employee development planning.
● Partner with Sales, Account Management, Content, Web, and leadership teams to resolve escalations and improve client outcomes.
● Own team training plans, readiness, and enablement for new processes, tools, and service offerings.
● Standardize workflows, quality-control expectations, and execution standards across the department.
● Review campaign performance trends across team-managed and personally managed accounts to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, client performance, and service quality.
● Develop improvement strategies for accounts, ensuring timely implementation of action plans.
● Translate department objectives into weekly and monthly team execution plans.
● Escalate systemic issues, resource constraints, and delivery risks to the Director.
● Support retention, client satisfaction, and operational excellence through strong team management and direct portfolio ownership.
Technology, Reporting, and AI Proficiency
The SEO Manager is expected to demonstrate strong operational command of the department’s core systems, reporting platforms, workflow tools, and people-management tools. Platform usage at this level should support performance management, reporting quality, client portfolio health, team accountability, service consistency, and cross-functional coordination. Systems and platforms may include:

The SEO Manager should be able to use these systems to monitor workflow health, interpret reporting trends, support staffing and prioritization decisions, manage client portfolio performance, oversee process compliance, and improve team readiness. This role should also use AI tools, including ChatGPT Agents, to improve management efficiency, accelerate insight generation, support coaching, standardize workflows, and strengthen operational decision-making.

Qualifications
● 5\+ years of experience in SEO, digital marketing, campaign management, or client service delivery.
● 5\+ years of experience managing a team of direct reports, coaching, mentoring, and providing day-to-day direction to team members, specialists, or cross-functional contributors.
● 2\+ years of experience directly managing a portfolio of SEO or digital marketing client accounts.
● Experience managing SEO, digital marketing, campaign management, or client service delivery workflows in an agency, multi-location, or client-facing environment preferred.
● Strong understanding of SEO operations, campaign execution, reporting, and client performance management.
● Experience coaching, developing, and holding team members accountable to performance expectations.
● Ability to interpret campaign performance trends and translate insights into operational action plans.
● Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities across multiple teams, accounts, and stakeholders.
● Experience working with reporting platforms, workflow systems, CRM tools, CMS platforms, and SEO performance tools. ● Comfort using AI tools to improve workflow efficiency, reporting, coaching, and operational decision-making. ● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pay: $75,000\.00 - $85,000\.00 per year
