Job Description
OVERVIEW
One Security Company is a rapidly growing security services organization providing professional security solutions throughout Oregon. As a service-based, client-focused company, our success depends on the quality of the people we hire, train, and support. Our growth and client satisfaction are driven by the professionalism of our employees and the culture we build internally.
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support and strengthen that culture while managing core HR functions and helping refine internal processes as the organization continues to grow.
This role includes a variety of administrative HR responsibilities and regular interaction with employees and leadership. The position manages day-to-day HR tasks while serving as a key point of contact for employee questions, operational needs, and personnel processes.
The ideal candidate will approach these responsibilities with a broader perspective, understanding how individual tasks connect to the company’s long-term goals and identifying opportunities to improve processes, policies, and systems as the organization scales.
For the right individual, this position also offers a clear path for growth, with the potential to develop into a Director-level HR role as the company continues to expand.
This position will begin as an in-office role during the training period, after which the schedule will transition to a hybrid structure, with office visits only required when necessary to accomplish work responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition
Manage the full-cycle entry-level recruiting process (including drafting job postings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and supporting hiring decisions). Maintain recruitment pipelines and assist with workforce planning efforts. Oversee structured onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a consistent and professional employee experience. Work closely with operations managers to ensure employee success. Most of our employees will be off-site, so the HR Generalist must be comfortable engaging with employees remotely/virtually.
Employee Relations
Serve as the primary HR contact for employee questions, workplace concerns, and HR-related matters. Provide guidance to supervisors and employees regarding performance management, workplace expectations, and conflict resolution while maintaining consistency and professionalism in all personnel matters. The right candidate will enjoy supporting employee growth (helping team members understand expectations, develop professionally, and get up to speed in their roles so they can succeed within the organization).
Benefits \& Compensation Administration
Administer employee benefits programs. Manage benefits enrollments, employee changes, and assist employees with benefits-related questions. Support payroll coordination and ensure compensation records are maintained accurately.
Compliance \& HR Records Management
Ensure company policies and employment practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data including personnel files, employment documentation, and compliance reporting. Facilitate background checks as required by state law and our client partners.
Policy Development \& Implementation
Assist leadership in developing, documenting, and implementing HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook materials. Ensure policies are communicated clearly and applied consistently across the organization.
Operational HR Support
Partner with leadership and operations managers to support workforce planning, employee engagement initiatives, and organizational development. Identify opportunities to strengthen HR processes and systems as the company continues to grow.
Additional Role Expectations and Information
- The HR Generalist may occasionally travel locally using a company vehicle to distribute or collect employee uniforms and equipment. Travel is limited to the local service area and does not require overnight trips.
- The HR Generalist must be comfortable communicating with employees from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Our workforce includes individuals with diverse education levels, career paths, and life experiences, so the ability to understand your audience and adjust communication styles is essential.
- This role requires someone comfortable working in a growing and evolving organization. As we expand, some policies and procedures are still being developed and refined. The right candidate will enjoy helping build structure, improve processes, and support leadership in strengthening the culture that drives the company’s growth.
- We perform both armed and unarmed security work. The HR Generalist should be comfortable working in an environment where firearms are present as part of normal business operations.
- Our office includes an office dog, so applicants should be comfortable working in a dog-friendly environment.
- This role will typically operate during standard business hours. However, because our operations run 24/7, occasional tasks or employee needs may arise outside of typical weekday hours, including evenings or weekends.
While we utilize AI tools to assist with formatting and refining written materials, we do not rely on AI to screen candidates or replace human interaction in the hiring process. We value direct communication and genuine engagement with applicants and expect the HR Generalist to approach recruiting and employee interactions with the same personal approach.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
