Job Description
The Role
We are looking for a BI Analyst Intern to help us organize and interpret the data generated by our consulting projects. This position focuses on turning messy internal logs and client feedback into clear reports that show whether a client internal management rhythm is actually improving. You will be part of a team that values simplicity and direct action over complex theoretical models.
This is a fully remote position where you will spend your time making sure our consultants have the right information at the right time. You do not need specialized years of experience, but you do need an interest in how organizations function and a talent for making numbers understandable for everyone involved.
About Olive Tree Consulting Group
Olive Tree Consulting Group works with leadership teams when the ordinary work of management starts to feel heavier than it should. We focus on the practical ways that decisions, responsibilities, and priorities move through an organization. Often, we are brought in when the same issues keep appearing, even though talented people are trying their best to solve them. This might look like decisions that get reopened after they were supposedly settled, or priorities that drift until everyone is busy but no work moves forward.
We help simplify these patterns. Our work is not about introducing large transformation programs or complex software systems. Instead, we look at the meetings, notes, and habits already in place and help make them more usable. The goal is to create a quieter, clearer management rhythm that allows leaders to focus on their actual work rather than the coordination of it. As a fully remote team, we operate with the same intentionality we bring to our clients. We value brief, thoughtful communication and ownership that is plain enough for everyone to see.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will spend a lot of your time cleaning and organizing data sets from various client engagements. You will help build simple dashboards that track indicators like meeting efficiency, project resolution times, and decision clarity. This involves more than just running technical scripts: you will need to understand the context of the data and identify when a number seems off or when a trend is emerging. You will also participate in team briefings to explain what the data says about a specific client situation. This helps our consultants make better recommendations based on facts rather than just intuition. The goal of your work is to make progress visible and measurable for teams that are often overwhelmed by noise.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who finds satisfaction in bringing order to information. You should have a basic understanding of data analysis tools and spreadsheets, but your ability to think through a problem is more important than your technical speed. We value clarity over flashiness, so your reports should be easy for a non technical person to read and use immediately. You need to be comfortable working independently in a remote environment and managing your own schedule. Since we are a small consulting group, being observant and willing to ask questions when something is unclear is a vital part of the job. You should enjoy the process of turning a large amount of raw information into a few sentences of actionable insight.
Helpful Background
While this is an entry level position, it helps if you have spent some time working with data visualization tools or basic programming for data analysis. Familiarity with remote collaboration tools and a general interest in organizational psychology or business management can also provide useful context for your work. You might have studied a field like economics, mathematics, or business, but what matters most is your ability to communicate complex ideas in a plain way. We like to see a history of personal projects or academic work where you had to solve an information problem using logic and persistence.
What We Offer
- A fully remote working environment that respects your time and focus.
- Direct exposure to management consulting and organizational design practices.
- A culture that prioritizes quiet work and thoughtful, written communication.
- The opportunity to work on projects that have a visible effect on how businesses operate.
- Mentorship from experienced consultants who value practical results over corporate jargon.
- A clear and predictable workload that avoids the high pressure typical of the industry.
Working At Olive Tree
Working here is different from many other consulting firms. We avoid the always on culture that many people associate with this industry. We believe that professional growth happens best when you have the space to think and the clarity to act. There is no unnecessary noise or busywork here. Instead, we focus on making sure every task we do contributes to a clearer rhythm for our clients and ourselves. This is a place for people who want to do meaningful work and maintain a calm, stable professional life. We focus on the movement of work and the habits that sustain it, ensuring that our own team functions as effectively as the clients we advise.
