Business Analyst

Location: Sydney

Experienced delivery focused Business Analyst with a background in regulatory uplift and remediation initiatives, including end-to-end process and decision flow mapping and complex stakeholder engagement. While the candidate may not have direct experience working with automated decision making (ADM) arrangements, they must have strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to discover, interpret, translate and document decision making processes to support ADM transparency outcomes.

Additionally, proven experience working across diverse stakeholder groups, including privacy, business, technology delivery, risk and operational teams, to support the ADM project delivery within the set timeline. The candidate should be comfortable operating with a degree of autonomy, able to independently execute discovery and documentation activities, manage ambiguity, and navigate day-to-day challenges with limited supervision.

Role Focus

In data flows and automated-decision-making transparency program, this BA would typically:

  • Map current-state decision journeys and identify where automation is used impacting individuals (like customers, candidates etc.).
  • Document types of decisions, what PI involved in the automated-decision, data sources (systems), level of automation, and exceptions.
  • Conduct the analysis to identify transparency gaps, customer disclosure impacts, and human review requirements.
  • Support design of customer-facing disclosures, internal controls, and audit-ready artefacts.
  • Organize workshops and partner with business, data and AI team, privacy and technology teams to deliver uplift.
  • Business‑focused, with a strong emphasis on understanding business processes, outcomes, and value.
