Position Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Business Analyst - Product Control to strengthen our risk management capabilities. This role will be instrumental in testing our risk management system, ensuring robust identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of various financial risks. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial risk concepts and the technical acumen to translate these into effective system solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Requirements Analysis and Documentation:
Work closely with a diverse group of stakeholders, including risk managers, business analysts to understand requirements for enhancements and new functionalities within the risk management system. This involves reviewing existing documentation to ensure a thorough understanding of business needs and objectives.
- Functional Specification Development:
Understand functional specifications, comprehensive use cases, and clear process flows for various components of the risk management system. This includes intricate risk calculation engines, robust reporting modules, and reliable data feeds, ensuring clarity and precision for development teams.
- Collaborative Solution Validation:
Collaborate extensively with cross-functional development teams, including software engineers, Business analysts, and project managers, to understand and validate our risk management solutions. Act as a critical bridge between business and technical teams, facilitating effective communication and problem-solving.
- Comprehensive Testing and Validation:
Perform rigorous and comprehensive testing of new risk models, risk reporting functionalities, and other system enhancements. This includes developing test plans, executing test cases, and meticulously documenting results to ensure accuracy, reliability, and adherence to defined requirements.
- Data Quality Management:
Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve data quality issues that impact risk calculations, reporting, and overall system integrity. This involves working with data owners and technical teams to implement corrective measures and establish robust data governance practices.
- System Integration Support:
Provide critical support for the seamless integration of the risk management system with other interconnected financial systems, such as trading platforms, accounting systems, and data warehouses. This ensures data consistency and operational efficiency across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, or a closely related field. A strong academic record demonstrating analytical aptitude is highly valued. Professional certifications such as Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or Professional Risk Manager (PRM) are a significant advantage and demonstrate a deep commitment to the field.
- Quantitative Risk Model Familiarity:
Familiarity with quantitative risk models, methodologies such as Value-at-Risk (VaR), stress testing, and scenario analysis. An understanding of the underlying mathematical and statistical principles behind these models is crucial.
- Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. Experience with other data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., Python) is a plus.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Exceptional analytical, logical, and problem-solving abilities, with a proven capacity to break down complex problems, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
- Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and financial concepts clearly, concisely, and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. This includes strong presentation and documentation skills.
