About The Role

The Business Analyst role at GCI is a strategic position that serves as a vital partner to leadership and business stakeholders. The successful candidate will analyze and synthesize business needs, industry trends, processes, and systems to identify opportunities for operational improvements. This role involves providing data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to enhance efficiency, support business growth, and inform decision-making. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle, financial controls, and analytics to optimize spend management, vendor relationships, and process automation. The Business Analyst will lead cross-functional evaluations, develop reports and dashboards, and facilitate stakeholder engagement to ensure solutions align with organizational objectives and compliance standards. This role is integral to driving continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing reporting accuracy, and enabling scalable, sustainable business practices.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Marketing, or a relevant field
  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in business analytics, business intelligence, strategic planning, or related areas
  • At least two (2) years of experience utilizing reporting and dashboarding tools such as Excel, SQL, BI platforms, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, vendor management, and invoice coding
  • Understanding of financial controls, vendor payment terms, discounts, and spend analysis
  • Experience with data analysis, root cause analysis, and developing insights for executive-level reporting
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a partner to leadership and stakeholders by analyzing business needs and industry trends to identify improvement opportunities
  • Own and manage CTO invoice coding, cost transparency, and process improvements related to procurement and invoicing
  • Support data-driven decision-making through identifying inefficiencies, enhancing controls, and enabling automation across CTO spend
  • Conduct first-line vendor and contract billing reviews, analyze invoice trends, vendor spend, and identify anomalies
  • Understand and manage the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle, including requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt, invoicing, and payments
  • Evaluate existing processes and workflows, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements
  • Partner with leadership to gather, validate, and analyze data, translating business needs into functional or technical requirements
  • Develop insights, summaries, and reports to support strategic decision-making and document business requirements
  • Lead evaluations of enterprise processes, conduct root cause and impact analyses, and recommend scalable solutions
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses to monitor performance, trends, and variances
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across reporting platforms
  • Identify data gaps and reporting limitations, recommending sustainable improvements
  • Transform complex data into executive-level insights, narratives, and decision materials
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and governance forums to align priorities and resolve conflicts
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve systems, processes, and data quality, supporting system implementations and policy changes
  • Champion process standardization, automation, and simplification initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
  • Support change management efforts and promote adoption of new tools and workflows
