Our challenge:
We are seeking an experienced
Business Analyst / Scrum Master
with deep expertise in
Payments processing and messaging standards
to support critical payment modernization and regulatory compliance initiatives. This hybrid role requires a strong
Payments SME / Technical BA background
, combined with hands‑on
Scrum Master responsibilities
, to drive delivery of high‑quality payment solutions in Agile environments.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in
SWIFT, Fedwire, ISO 20022
, and institutional payment systems, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Additional Information:
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with the law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $105K to $115K/year \& benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Act as a
Payments Subject Matter Expert (SME)
with strong hands‑on experience in
SWIFT, Fedwire Funds Service, and ISO 20022
payment processing.
Develop
use cases, functional specifications, and detailed user stories
for payment system enhancements and regulatory initiatives.
Lead analysis and mapping of
legacy payment formats (SWIFT MT)
to
ISO 20022 MX messages
for Fedwire and international payments.
Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, QA, Operations, and external stakeholders to deliver compliant and scalable payment solutions.
Identify opportunities to implement
automation and process improvements
across
Wire Payments workflows
to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
Ensure adherence to regulatory, network, and compliance standards including
Fedwire guidelines
,
FinCEN Travel Rule
, and internal risk controls.
Support
fraud prevention, AML compliance, and risk management
initiatives within payment operations.
Requirements:
Strong experience as a
Technical / Functional Business Analyst
in payments transformation programs.
Ability to translate complex payment regulations and messaging requirements into implementable system designs.
Familiarity with end‑to‑end SDLC and Agile delivery frameworks.
Strong past experience with
SWIFT
,
Fedwire
,
ISO 20022
, and enterprise
payment processing systems
.
Proficiency in
SWIFT MT and MX message formats
.
Hands‑on experience validating
pacs.008, pacs.004, camt
messages.
Experience with
payment system integrations, APIs
, and
core banking platforms
.
Preferred, but not required:
Ability/Awareness to use GenAI tools to enhance productivity is Preferred.
ACH expertise(NACHA rules) and FedNow/RTP payments expertise preferred.
