Business Intelligence Analyst
Downtown Salt Lake City, UT
Hybrid, 4 days a week on-site
$120-135K/year
We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to drive measurable growth for our Operations and Investment Management group.
This role focuses on defining and tracking operational KPIs, transforming raw data into actionable business insights, building real-time dashboards, identifying key performance drivers and correlations, and partnering with business teams to enable data-driven decision-making.
You will be part of the Analytics function within a broader Data \& Technology organization and will collaborate closely with Data Engineering. While initially an individual contributor role, there is an opportunity to grow into managing a small team.
On the technical side, you will work across a modern data stack including cloud data warehousing, transformation frameworks, orchestration tools, Python, and BI platforms. On the business side, you will partner with operations teams to improve visibility, optimize processes, and support workflow automation initiatives.
Ideal candidates bring strong technical proficiency, the ability to translate complex business challenges into analytical solutions, experience working with senior stakeholders, and a track record of driving initiatives from concept through execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data models and transformations using SQL and modern data tooling
- Build dashboards and visualizations to track key business metrics and support exploratory analysis
- Monitor and manage data pipelines within orchestration frameworks
- Lead projects end-to-end, including requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, and results presentation
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to understand evolving data needs
- Translate analytical insights into actionable, phased initiatives that drive measurable business impact
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics)
- 4–8 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related data role
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with data transformation frameworks
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
- Working knowledge of Python and Excel
- Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis techniques
- Experience delivering projects end-to-end in cross-functional environments
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of curiosity and problem-solving mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services or investment-related environments
- Background in business analysis and/or project management
