The Digital Experience team works on a wide range of digital products from a native app to all things Banner, to voice solutions for easy appointment scheduling, to patient rehab apps, to internal physician workflow and care solutions. We’re looking for an out-of-the-box thinker to join Banner Health's Digital Experience team as they create innovative and intuitive digital consumer health experiences. POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be a design-centric senior level front end developer on the Digital Experience team. At the core of Banner Health’s digital competency is the design system which allows for familiar consumer experiences across a wide variety of digital products (native, web, voice, text, chatbot). This senior front end developer role will lead the design team’s front end developers and work alongside the UI/UX designers to create multi-channel consumer first digital health care products. This role will have advisory responsibilities, including training and mentoring front-end developers, assisting in their hiring process, and maintaining responsibility for their production. The role will include the development and research of modern front end languages and Javascript frameworks, including those used by software development teams consuming the design team’s work. Creates and maintains the Banner Health design system website, working alongside Senior UI/UX Designers, documenting all rules and patterns essential to the creation of the design team’s websites and applications. Communicates with Digital Product Managers to make sure project needs are met. Attends and creates meetings for each project the design team is involved in to ensure ongoing development tasks are completed and sites are kept up with modern front end technologies. Provide integration consulting to software development teams consuming the design system. Delegation of project tasks to mid-level and junior front-end developers, perform code reviews on all projects, and maintain full ownership over all contributed code, including proofing, quality checking of their work, and overall approval when committing code to production. Provide global solutions for Banner Health websites, including site architecture, best practices, and setting the standard for accessibility in front-end development at Banner Health. Role will include creating a developer standards charter for the team and department, including a consistent way of coding, installation of the design system components, and accessibility standards.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1\. Drive innovation on the development side of the design team, generating ideas and leading in the creation, grooming, and distribution of the design system, including adopting new best practices for front end languages.

2\. Collaboration with software engineers for the integration, implementation, and hand-off of front-end code. Use forward thinking strategy for innovation in the management and distribution of code.

3\. Develop an accessibility-centric approach for all content used on the design team, in tandem with the UI/UX designer whose role includes setting accessibility standards.

4\. Create new project codebases and project-specific trainings to be used by other design system developers on the team.

5\. Review all code generated by other front end developer members of the design team, provide feedback, and pull request approval for shared repositories.

6\. Responsible for general mentorship, delegating project tasks, planning meetings, and assisting with code errors and problems with other design system developers.

7\. Continuing education on integrating the design system into any project type, like Angular, .NET Core, as the development technology and industry changes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a strong technical and business knowledge as typically obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Five to seven years of experience as a front end web developer. Experience as a lead front end developer on web products that have shipped and been widely-viewed. Strong experience in modern versions of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and related front end languages. Solid experience in JavaScript app development, both with and without third party frameworks. Experience working in a lean agile environment. Strong multi-discipline collaboration skills are a must. Experience in Github, Azure DevOps, Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, InVision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity with Angular, .NET Core, React, jQuery, node.js, Bootstrap, Foundation, Gulp, material.io important. Working knowledge of Abstract and Sketch and/or Adobe XD preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Estimated Pay Range:

$40\.91 - $68\.19 / hour Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted compensation range is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay Banner Health in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. This range is based on possible base salaries and does not include the value of our total rewards package. Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location, along with a review of current employees in similar roles to ensure pay equity is achieved and maintained.
