Description

We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer with strong WordPress experience to join our growing digital team.

This role focuses on building scalable and visually polished web experiences within the WordPress ecosystem while helping us gradually modernize parts of the platform with React-based components.

Since we manage a large network of websites, we’re especially interested in developers who think in terms of reusable systems and scalable workflows, not just one-off builds.

This is a 100% remote, U.S.-based role, and we value developers who are proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working across teams.

ResponsibilitiesWordPress Front-End Development

• Develop and maintain front-end functionality within the WordPress ecosystem
• Work with PHP-driven WordPress templates and theme structures
• Build reusable components that can be implemented across multiple websites

Elementor \& WordPress Ecosystem

• Work extensively with Elementor-based development workflows
• Create reusable templates and layout structures for scalable site builds

Experience with tools such as:

• Elementor
• Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
• Events Calendar
• Smashballoon
• Mapster Pro
• WPMU Dev

These are highly valuable.

Scalable Development Systems

• Help build development processes that allow our team to create functionality once and reuse it across multiple websites
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce redundant development

React \& Modern JavaScript

While most projects currently live in WordPress, we are gradually introducing React-based components to support more dynamic experiences.

Experience with:

• React functional components
• Modern JavaScript (ES6\+)
• Component-based architecture

Is a strong plus.

Performance Optimization

• Improve Core Web Vitals and overall site performance
• Optimize asset delivery and caching strategies
• Ensure responsive behavior across devices

Accessibility \& Best Practices

• Ensure websites follow ADA accessibility standards and WCAG best practices
• Build accessible front-end experiences, including semantic markup, proper contrast, and keyboard navigation
• Maintain high standards for usability, SEO, and web performance

Infrastructure Awareness

Our hosting environment includes:

• Plesk
• Cloudflare

Developers should have a general understanding of:

• DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT)
• Domain configuration
• SSL certificates
• CDN caching layers

Collaboration

• Work with designers and developers to translate concepts into polished web experiences
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical team members

Maintenance \& Stability

• Assist with WordPress updates and plugin management
• Troubleshoot front-end issues
• Help maintain stability across our network of sites

QualificationsWordPress Development

3\+ years of experience within the WordPress ecosystem, including:

• PHP-based WordPress development
• Custom themes
• Plugin customization
• WordPress architecture

Experience supporting multiple websites or scalable environments is strongly preferred.

PHP

Strong experience working with PHP for WordPress templates and custom functionality.

Modern JavaScript

Experience with:

• Modern JavaScript (ES6\+)
• React fundamentals (functional components and hooks)

Tools

Experience working with tools such as:

• Elementor
• Tango
• Asana
• Freshdesk
• ACF

Infrastructure Awareness

Familiarity with:

• Cloudflare
• Plesk
• DNS configuration

Development Workflow

• Git version control
• Debugging tools
• Performance auditing tools
