Job Description

Vice President, Product — Growth Portfolio

PE-Backed B2B SaaS · Insurance Technology

The Opportunity

We are conducting a confidential executive search for a Vice President of Product to lead a high-priority growth portfolio within the global Product organization of a PE-backed insurance technology platform. This is a rare opportunity for a commercially sharp product executive to own the vision, strategy, and execution of a product vertical purpose-built to drive measurable customer and revenue impact across the insurance ecosystem.

The company is a scaled, category-defining B2B SaaS platform serving the insurance distribution market — with deep carrier and broker relationships, significant data assets, and an accelerating AI and automation roadmap. Backed by a top-tier private equity firm, the business is investing heavily in product-led growth and is looking for a leader who can operate at both altitude and ground level.

What You'll Own

Product Strategy \& Vision

  • Define and own the multi-year product strategy for the growth vertical, aligned to company priorities and market opportunity.
  • Develop a compelling vision for data-activated, workflow-embedded, AI-enhanced solutions that elevate decision-making and automate critical processes across insurance workflows.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, Sales, Marketing, and Customer teams to identify and validate high-value opportunities across underwriting, distribution, claims, payments, analytics, and automation.
  • Synthesize customer insights, usage behavior, and competitive signals into a clear, prioritized roadmap with meaningful outcomes.

Product Execution \& Lifecycle Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end activation of data, analytics, and AI within the Rating, Quoting, and Connectivity product portfolio — embedding advanced analytics, workflow intelligence, and ML-driven insights into core product experiences.
  • Direct product teams in applying AI/ML to deliver measurable customer value: prediction, automation, decision support, and anomaly detection.
  • Partner with data engineering and ML teams to evaluate vendor technologies, validate model performance, and operationalize AI capabilities at scale.
  • Build strong business cases that quantify product value, workflow impact, revenue potential, and customer ROI.
  • Establish and track success metrics across the product lifecycle, with a disciplined approach to prioritization in a complex, interconnected platform environment.
  • Drive delivery excellence in partnership with engineering leadership — accelerating velocity, quality, and cross-portfolio alignment.
  • Serve as a visible product champion internally and externally, representing the portfolio with customers, partners, and industry communities.

Target Product Outcomes

  • Distributor Growth — scaled deployments across top brokers and total submission/premium volume by distributor
  • Digital Quote Volume Growth — % YoY and MoM across insurance markets
  • Policy Bridge \& Bind Event Growth — % YoY and MoM by market
  • Emerging Lines Adoption — new carrier launches per target line
  • Quote Response Health — median carrier response time and API error rate
  • Distributor Concentration — balanced portfolio distribution across top distributors

Team Leadership

  • Build, scale, and mentor a high-performing global product team, fostering a culture of curiosity, customer obsession, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Create clarity in roles, expectations, and operating rhythms to enable high performance and accountability.
  • Invest in talent development and succession to support long-term organizational growth.

What We're Looking For

  • 10\+ years of progressive product leadership in B2B SaaS, platforms, fintech, insurtech, data products, workflow automation, or marketplace ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling analytics-driven, AI-enabled, or data platform products.
  • Experience scaling products to \>1M users or a \>$10M revenue line.
  • Experience setting strategy for complex, multi-segment or multi-workflow platforms.
  • Strong commercial acumen — able to model business impact and influence cross-functional executives.
  • Deep experience partnering with engineering, data engineering, and ML teams to bring modern AI capabilities to market.
  • Proven ability to thrive in ambiguity, lead through change, and operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading distributed or global teams (US and APAC exposure a plus).
  • Familiarity with modern product tools — AI coding agents, AI-assisted product research/design, Jira, Figma, analytics platforms — and agile delivery practices.
