We are seeking a

Database Cloud Engineer

with strong experience in database migration from on-prem environments to AWS. This role will focus on designing, deploying, and optimizing cloud-based database solutions while ensuring performance, scalability, and security.

You will work on large-scale database migrations (Oracle, SQL Server AWS RDS/Postgres/MySQL) and support modern cloud infrastructure using Terraform, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support database migration efforts from on-prem (Oracle, SQL Server) to AWS
• Engineer and maintain AWS database solutions (RDS, Postgres, MySQL, NoSQL, Databricks)
• Deploy and manage multi-region, high-availability database environments
• Containerize applications and tools using EKS, ECS, Kubernetes
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, GitLab pipelines)
• Install and rehydrate applications in AWS environments (black-box deployments)
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and reliability issues
• Collaborate with engineering teams on cloud architecture, networking, and security

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with database migration to AWS (on-prem cloud)
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, etc.)
• Experience with databases: Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, Databricks
• Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)
• Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS)
• Solid understanding of database performance tuning, replication, and high availability
• Knowledge of networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect)
• Experience with AWS DMS, SCT, or similar migration tools
• Experience with multi-region deployments and cross-region replication
• Background in enterprise or financial services environments
