Job Title

Senior Brand Marketing Manager

About Us

About Us Since our founding in 1982, in the basement of the Yellow Turtle in Stowe, Vermont, Turtle Fur has embodied the moxie and purpose that were trademarks of our founder, Millie Merrill. What started over 40 years ago with the invention of the fleece neck warmer – affectionately dubbed The Turtle’s Neck®, sparking a design shift in winter accessories – remains the foundation and spirit of our brand today as a leader in outdoor lifestyle and performance headwear and accessories.

Today, our vision is to grow health and happiness through nature for every adventure(r). We do this by creating sustainable solutions for every body, that feel great, in every element, and built for a life lived outside. We’re a proud Certified B Corp and believe that our business should be used as a force for good. Our global growth and impact are fueled by applying our storied expertise and love of the outdoors, and by leading with big steps and treading lightly along the way.

We think that Turtle Fur is a great place to work. That is why we have so many employees who have been here for 5, 10, and 20\+ years! Turtle Fur HQ is located close to Stowe and Smugglers Notch Ski Resorts, Craftsbury Outdoor Center, numerous mountain bike trails, some of Vermont's most beautiful lakes and rivers, and a short drive to our largest city, Burlington, as well as our capital city, Montpelier.

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes 401k with a match, medical \& dental insurance, paid time off, and more.

About The Job

The Senior Brand Marketing Manager isn’t just "managing a brand” – you are the voice of our community. You are the bridge between our high-level goals and the actual consumers who buy our gear. You are high-energy, data-informed, and deeply immersed in outdoor and Gen Z culture. You ensure that everything that Turtle Fur puts into the world is intentional, and unmistakably Turtle Fur. The Senior Brand Marketing Manager is responsible for authentically strengthening brand awareness with our target audience of outdoorsy, style-loving Gen Z women, while maintaining the love we have from our core (skiers of all ages and genders), through brand marketing strategy, campaigns, consumer engagement and activations and social media / influencer strategy and execution.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • The Blueprint: Architect the overarching brand marketing strategy that defines how we will capture our target consumer while staying relevant to our core. You will own our brand identity, our marketing channel ecosystem, campaign and content calendar, what resources we need, and how we measure and optimize. You will set the high-level goals, establish the KPIs that actually matter, and take full ownership of the results.
  • The Master Plan:  Own the annual marketing calendar. Map out the year’s campaigns, product drops, and storytelling moments, and manage the team to execute the plan.
  • The Hype Machine: Lead our consumer engagement, social media, and PR strategies. Make sure people aren’t just seeing us—they’re talking about us.
  • Resources: Identify, hire, and manage our creative and marketing agencies. Also lead a tight-knit internal team of 2-3 FTE and contract employees.
  • The Network: Build and manage relationships with athletes, influencers, and partner brands. You know who’s "in" before they’re even on the radar and will use that to extend the reach of the Turtle Fur brand into strategic consumer groups.
  • The Bottom Line:  Manage the budget and set ambitious KPIs. You aren’t just spending money; you’re driving brand awareness and ROI.
  • Wholesale Support:  Be the best friend of our sales team, providing the brand marketing support they need to win at retail.

About You

  • Campaign Architecture: Proven ability to build "360-degree" campaigns. You know how to take one big idea and translate it across an email blast, a TikTok trend, a PR pitch, and a wholesale floor decal.
  • Strategic Planning \& Budgeting: You’re a pro at managing a multi-channel budget. You know how to allocate funds between "top-of-funnel" brand building and "bottom-of-funnel" conversion without breaking the bank.
  • Influencer \& Talent Negotiation: You don't just "find" influencers; you know how to vet them for authentic engagement (not just follower counts), negotiate contracts, and manage long-term ambassador relationships.
  • Data Literacy \& KPI Tracking: You’re comfortable in the dashboard. You can set and track KPIs, and brand sentiment, and you know how to "pivot" the strategy based on what the data is telling you.
  • Agency Management: You have a "black book" of creative and media agencies (or the eye to find them). You know how to write a killer creative brief and how to hold external partners accountable to deadlines and quality.
  • Social Ecosystem Mastery: You have a native understanding of the current social landscape (TikTok, IG, Pinterest, YouTube). You understand platform-specific nuances—like why a high-production video might fail on TikTok but crush it on YouTube.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: You can speak "Sales" to the wholesale team, "Creative" to the designers, and "Data" to leadership. You are the glue that keeps the brand vision consistent across every department.
  • PR \& Media Relations: You understand the modern PR landscape. You know that a mention in a "Top Gear of the Year" list or a feature in a trend-focused newsletter is worth more than a traditional press release.
  • Professionalism \& Enthusiasm: Embody \& enthusiastically champion Turtle Fur values; as a B Corp we view business as a force for good, supporting our goals around sustainability and inclusivity. Support a culture of authenticity and accountability.

Education And Experience

  • At least 7 years of experience in brand marketing or related role that demonstrates proven success

  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Bending, and reaching forward, sideways, and overhead; finger dexterity to perform functions on computer and access files; sitting for long periods at a time.
  • Standard business environment.
  • Work Location: Position is eligible for hybrid work (hybrid: in office \+ remote); on-site time in our Morrisville, VT office is highly valued and desired.

Salary range: $90k - $120k/year. We are committed to fair and equitable pay. Compensation within this range will be based on relevant experience, skills, location, and internal compensation guidelines.
