Job Description
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical / Physical Design Engineer to join our team in Maynard, MA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing mechanical components for desktops, servers, or networking switches, along with proven expertise in product development from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components for desktops, servers, and networking systems.
- Create and maintain 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Perform tolerance analysis to ensure proper fit and manufacturability.
- Support prototyping, testing, and design validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Lead design reviews and provide technical guidance.
- Work with suppliers to support production and tooling.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Good experience in mechanical/physical design
- Strong experience in designing desktops, servers, networking equipment, or switches.
- Proficiency in
CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Experience with mechanical components such as enclosures, chassis, brackets, and thermal solutions.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (
sheet metal, plastics, die-casting, machining
).
