Senior BA for Australian Utility Wholesale and Trading Business Unit

Role Description

This role will work with Agile delivery squads, bridging business stakeholders and digital technology teams, with strong expertise in Jira, backlog management and Agile ceremonies.

Experience:

8-10 years

Mandatory Soft Skills:

  • Experience in Australian Utility Wholesale and Trading Business Unit process and good understanding of Australian Utilities Compliance and regulatory authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Strong stakeholder communication (business and IT)
  • Ability to work in fast-paced Agile squads
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Customer-centric thinking

Support Product Owner in,

  • Backlog prioritisation
  • Story refinement
  • Ensure Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) compliance

Backlog Management \& Jira Board

  • Ensure alignment between business requirements and Jira artefacts
  • Impact Assessment of the business requirement
  • Manage and maintain Jira boards and Confluence
  • Create and track epics, stories, defects
  • Maintain story hierarchy and traceability
  • Dashboards, Sprint reports, Release tracking metrics
  • Clear, well-defined backlog in Jira
  • Improved sprint predictability
  • High-quality user stories with minimal rework

Mandatory Australian Utility Wholesale and Trading Business Unit BA skills:

  • Electricity, Gas \& Derivative Trading / Hedging, Risk Management
  • Settlements \& Market Reconciliation, Forecasting \& Portfolio Optimisation (Demand forecasting, Price forecasting (spot \& forward curves))
  • Energy Trading \& Risk Management Systems (ETRM)
  • Translate business needs into User stories, epics, and acceptance criteria
  • Requirements elicitation, analyse and document business and functional requirements for:
  • Work as part of Agile squads and participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives
