About the Role
The Big Data QA Analyst/Testing Engineer - Hadoop at MNJ SOFTWARE is a key role responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of big data solutions, specifically within Hadoop ecosystems. This position involves designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies and plans to validate data analytics and integration processes. The role requires close collaboration with project leads, developers, testers, and business stakeholders to ensure that deliverables meet specified requirements and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing big data platforms, including Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Flume, and Oozie, along with experience in SQL, unstructured data, and scripting languages. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the development of robust data solutions that support business decision-making and digital transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
- ME/M.Tech/BE/B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc (IT) or equivalent
- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in testing BI and analytics solutions
- Proficiency in writing and executing integration test plans and scenarios
- Hands-on experience with Oracle database, Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Flume, and Oozie
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large volumes of unstructured data
- Knowledge of UNIX and Linux sequence files
- Understanding of Hadoop clusters and security protocols
- Familiarity with Java, Python, and shell scripting is preferred
- Experience creating test data, load testing, and performance testing scripts
- Ability to develop comprehensive test strategies and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed test strategies, plans, and test cases for big data implementations
- Execute testing activities for data analytics and integration projects within defined timelines and budgets
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to ensure quality standards are met
- Review and validate test plans, test cases, and testing processes with the core team
- Identify, document, and track defects and issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Establish and maintain testing best practices and continuous improvement processes
- Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and development assessments
- Support the growth of analytic practices by implementing scalable testing methodologies
- Perform load, stress, and performance testing to validate system robustness and scalability
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for testing activities and outcomes
