Job Overview:
In this remote opportunity, as a Regional Sales Manager for High Liner Foods, you will be accountable for effectively managing the food service business covering Illinois, Wisconsin \& Iowa markets. The key objective of this position is to grow food service sales within foodservice distribution houses and regional operators, including, but not limited to: Multi-Unit Chains, Large Independent Operator Accounts (EX. C\&U, Health Care Distribution, Buying Groups) while managing and achieving budget targets.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
Approximately 40% of the role is dedicated to broker and distributor management, 25% to regional operator account management, and 35% to new business development and business planning.
- This position works closely with Marketing, Culinary, Procurement, Customer Service, Sales Planning, QA and eternal customer stakeholders to delivery profitable growth.
- Achieve sales budgets by selling foodservice commodities and value-added seafood products to broadline distribution and operators.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of key customers, competitors, and brokers in the Region.
- Attend food shows and conduct broker training, product cuttings, and business reviews.
- Manage and negotiate pricing and trade spend with customers.
- Complete weekly CRM and Trade Management reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, brokers, and stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met.
- Provide market and competitive intelligence from the field.
- Communicate sales forecasts.
- Accountable for tracking and managing all sales-related expenses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5–10 years of foodservice sales, broker network, distribution sales, or chef experience; seafood experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of foodservice sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Strategic, analytical, and independent decision-maker able to execute tactical plans.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and driven, with excellent follow-up skills.
- Proven ability to win new business, build customer pipelines, and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Strong forecasting and demand planning skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, Power BI, Technomic, and Datassential
- Able to travel up to 50% during peak Lenten season.
