Job Description
Our client is a copper and gold miner company operating in Oman. Now we are looking for an Engineering Manager for its growing organization. The person will work at HQ of the copmapny in Muscat, Oman.
The
Engineering Manager
is responsible for safeguarding the technical integrity of our client's mining and processing projects throughout the study and execution phases. The role acts as owner-side technical assurance function, independently conducting engineering design reviews at 30%, 60%, and 90% completion milestones, validating plant throughput and metallurgical recovery assumptions, and ensuring that all designs are operable, maintainable, and constructable.
The Engineering Manager manages and approves client's engineering standards framework, leads technical due diligence for joint ventures and project financing, and manages the integration of lessons learned across the project portfolio. The role ensures that capital cost estimates are grounded in rigorous engineering definition and projects are designed to deliver sustainable long-term value.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION \& EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Mining Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional engineering registration is highly desirable.
- 15\+ years of experience in engineering roles within the mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial sectors, with a minimum of 5 years in technical assurance, engineering management, or owner-side engineering roles.
- Demonstrated experience conducting 30/60/90% engineering design reviews across multiple disciplines including process, mechanical, electrical, civil/structural, and instrumentation.
- Proven experience validating plant throughput and metallurgical recovery assumptions and reviewing testwork programmes.
- Experience managing and approving engineering standards frameworks applicable to mining and processing plant projects.
- Track record leading technical due diligence for project financing, JV transactions, or Board investment submissions.
- Experience managing engineering lessons-learned processes and integrating findings into future study and project phases.
- Strong understanding of international engineering codes and standards, capital cost estimation, and EPCM contracting models
KEY COMPETENCIES
This position requires a sound understanding of mining project economics, capital cost drivers, and the commercial and technical implications of engineering decisions on project value, feasibility, and long-term asset performance.
