Must Haves:

• Minimum 2 years of CAD design background with Siemens NX preferred; SolidWorks OR CATIA acceptable
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
• Strong computer skills for file documentation, storage, and directory management
• Familiarity with DOS‑based disk operating system tools (listing folders, stripping/renaming files, exporting directories, generating Excel/text files)
• Ability to extract component file names and export lists for tracking
• Understanding of CAD assemblies and components

Plusses:

• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Experience with weapons systems (air‑to‑air or air‑to‑ground guided missiles)
• Exposure to component pedigree tracking or configuration management
• Experience integrating CAD data with external software tools

Day‑to‑Day:

Insight Global is seeking a CAD Designer to support design and data management efforts for weapons system development at Eglin AFB. This individual will build, modify, and maintain CAD models for components such as bomb bodies, noses, lugs, and tails, ensuring each part is stored and documented correctly. They will manage structured file systems, maintain proper naming conventions, and support assembly creation by linking individual components into complete weapon configurations. The designer will use DOS‑style tools to pull file names, manipulate directory data, and export component lists into Excel for engineering coordination. They will also assist with tracking component pedigree and ensuring CAD data aligns with engineering requirements. Daily work involves coordinating with engineering teams, maintaining clean CAD file structures, and supporting integration of CAD data into associated software tools.
