Job Description
Responsibilities:
Constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, metal and wallboard in accordance with applicable building codes, oral instructions or specifications
Essential Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Fabricates cabinets, lockers, platforms, work benches, sheds and shelves; repairs slot bases, doors, roofs, woodwork and trim; assembles decks and shelving; hangs mirrors, bulletin boards, protective wall sheeting, ceiling tiles and signs
- Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, finish hardware, paneling, stairs, partitions and cabinet work
- Studies blueprints, sketches or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated
- Selects specified type of lumber or other material, prepares layout, makes working sketches, marks cutting and assembly lines on materials
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
Qualifications
- High School diploma or trade school certificate required as well as a minimum of four (4) years of related experience and one (1) year of casino experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Must be well-organized, detail oriented with ability to prioritize tasks and meet prescribed deadlines
- Fine motor hand and finger dexterity needed
Work Environment
- Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in the back of house of the casino, which can be faced-paced with excessive noise. Also, there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
