Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for overseeing project execution, financial performance, scheduling, client relations, subcontractor coordination, and field operations while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have at least 9 years of project management experience in the HVAC mechanical contracting industry with a strong background delivering new commercial construction projects including office buildings, healthcare facilities, schools, hospitality, industrial, multifamily, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial HVAC/mechanical construction projects simultaneously from award through completion.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout activities.
• Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and internal field teams.
• Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and submittals to ensure compliance and constructability.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower projections, and cost forecasts.
• Monitor project financials including labor productivity, material costs, change orders, billing, and profitability.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays and cost overruns.
• Oversee procurement of equipment and materials including long-lead items.
• Manage and mentor project engineers, assistant project managers, and field personnel.
• Conduct project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards, company safety policies, and quality control procedures.
• Negotiate and manage subcontractor and vendor agreements.
• Drive successful project turnover including commissioning, punch lists, as-built documentation, and warranty support.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 9 years of project management experience in HVAC/mechanical contracting.
• Proven experience successfully managing new commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, sheet metal, controls, and mechanical construction practices.
• Experience managing projects ranging from $5M\+ in mechanical scope preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling software and construction management platforms.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and change order management.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
