About Buddy \+ Co.:

We are a fractional co-founder and strategic growth partner that embeds directly within founder-led DTC fashion, home, and lifestyle brands. Rather than operating as an external vendor, the team works closely with the founder and leadership group. Buddy \+ Co. leads brand strategy, ecommerce, merchandising, paid media, product development, and retail within a unified, collaborative model. We help brands grow from early-stage revenue to multi-eight-figure businesses by making decisions that create meaningful, sustainable impact.

The Role:

We're hiring a Marketing Manager to own marketing and editorial strategy and execution across our client roster and for Buddy \+ Co. itself. This is a substantive role for someone who's been inside a brand like our clients' and knows what great looks like from the inside out.

  • Full marketing and editorial strategy across the client roster: seasonal campaign planning, content calendars, product launches, brand storytelling, and consistent brand voice across brands with very different aesthetics
  • Lifecycle and retention marketing via Klaviyo: email and SMS strategy, segmentation, automated flows, A/B testing, and performance optimization for each client
  • The paid media partner relationship: ensuring organic and paid strategies are genuinely integrated, not running in parallel without talking to each other
  • Client-facing marketing strategy: you're not just executing, you're advising clients on what their marketing should be doing and why, in partnership with our COO and Project Manager
  • KPI tracking and reporting across channels, turning performance data into clear strategic recommendations clients can actually act on
  • Influencer, content partnerships, and brand collaboration opportunities relevant to individual client growth goals
  • Buddy \+ Co.'s own marketing engine: our Substack publication, LinkedIn presence, and inbound strategy, turning our own content into a real new business channel

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in brand strategy, positioning, and messaging, with experience building and managing consumer-facing brands, ideally in DTC fashion, home, or lifestyle.
  • Experience in digital marketing channels, including paid social, search, email, and lifecycle marketing, with a data-informed approach to campaign planning and optimization.
  • Proficiency in Klaviyo or equivalent ESP; lifecycle and retention marketing ownership end-to-end.
  • Proficiency in shopify e-commerce and online merchandising best practices, including site content, product storytelling, promotional planning, and conversion optimization.
  • Capability to analyze marketing performance, interpret KPIs, and translate insights into clear recommendations and action plans for cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with founders, creative partners, and operational stakeholders.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize initiatives, manage timelines, and execute in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • In-house marketing experience at a founder-led DTC brand or agency serving fashion, home, or lifestyle brands is required. Background in both is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
