A high-volume, consumer-focused organization is seeking an experienced
Vice President, Controller / Chief Accounting Officer
to lead enterprise-wide accounting operations and financial controls. This executive-level role is a key member of the senior leadership team and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintaining audit readiness, and driving accounting excellence across a complex, high-revenue business environment.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, accounts payable, inventory accounting, and tax compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Partner with FP\&A, treasury, and operations to align accounting strategy with business objectives
- Oversee external audits and ensure compliance with SOX and internal control requirements
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing accounting team across multiple locations
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems to support growth and scalability
- Drive process automation and efficiency improvements across close, reporting, and reconciliation
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for executive leadership, board committees, and external stakeholders
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿
- 15\+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership in multi-entity environments
- Current or prior experience as a Corporate Controller, Chief Accounting Officer, or VP of Accounting
- CPA required; public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and operational accounting best practices
- Proven track record of improving accounting systems and processes at scale
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience in consumer, retail, or distribution-focused organizations preferred
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 \& 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀
- Base salary:
$275,000 – $325,000
- Performance-based bonus:
30–40% of base
- Total target compensation:
$357,500 – $455,000
