About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Chief Information Officer to lead the strategy, performance and improvement of our technology environment. Operating within a predominantly vendor-led model, this role is accountable for ensuring our technology services are well governed, secure, and aligned to business and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the CEO and leading a small team, this is a high-impact role that blends strategic leadership with practical delivery. You’ll work across the business to drive innovation, uplift systems and processes, and enhance the member experience.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Horizon Bank’s technology strategy and roadmap
- Own the performance, resilience and security of Horizon Bank’s technology environment
- Lead end-to-end delivery of technology projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage key technology vendors and service providers, including performance, risk and contract outcomes
- Manage Horizon Bank’s cyber security posture, IT risk framework and regulatory compliance
- Strengthen data governance and analytics capability to support better business insights and decision-making
- Oversee business continuity and technology resilience across all platforms and service providers
- Provide strategic reporting and advice to the CEO, Executive and Board
- Lead and develop a small, high-performing technology team
About you
- Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role
- Able to operate strategically while remaining hands-on where required
- Experience in vendor-led or outsourced technology environments
- Strong understanding of cyber security, IT risk and operating in structured or regulated environments
- Proven track record delivering strong outcomes in lean, agile organisations
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, including at Executive and Board level
Desirable
- Experience in banking, financial services or regulated environments
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications
