Job Description
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Executive Leadership Opportunity
Target Compensation:
$250K\+ \+ Bonus and full suite of benefits
Overview
We are partnering with an organization seeking a hands-on, delivery-focused CTO to step into a newly created executive leadership role. Reporting directly to the CIO, this individual will act as a true right-hand leader and succession-minded hire, owning end-to-end software delivery across the enterprise.
This is not a traditional infrastructure-heavy CTO role. Instead, the focus is driving project execution, accelerating product delivery, and ensuring on-time, high-quality releases in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
What You’ll Own
- Full ownership of enterprise software delivery lifecycle (SDLC): architecture → development → DevOps → QA → release
- Accountability for on-time delivery of strategic projects and new product initiatives
- Leadership of application development, architecture, DevOps, and QA teams
- Oversight of onshore and offshore engineering teams, including third-party vendors
- Driving modern engineering practices (Agile, CI/CD, automation, observability)
- Partnering directly with executive leadership (CIO, CEO, CFO) on delivery commitments and roadmap execution
- Building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering leadership teams
- Establishing consistency, efficiency, and best practices across delivery organizations
Technology Environment
- Microsoft technology stack (.NET / C# environment)
- Modern application architecture and cloud-based development
- Experience in similar Microsoft-centric engineering environments strongly preferred
What We’re Looking For
- 15\+ years of progressive technology leadership experience
- Proven success owning and delivering large-scale enterprise software projects end-to-end
- Strong background in software engineering and architecture
- Experience managing multi-layered teams (VPs, directors, and offshore teams)
- Demonstrated ability to own delivery, drive accountability, and meet aggressive timelines
- Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate clearly with business stakeholders
- A leader who is:
- Highly autonomous
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
- Both strategic and hands-on when needed
- Focused on execution, not just vision
Key Success Factors
- Acts as a single point of accountability for delivery
- Able to step into executive conversations and own project status in full detail
- Builds trust quickly with both technical teams and business leadership
- Drives consistent, predictable delivery outcomes
Additional Details
- Newly created role with strong visibility and impact
- Opportunity to serve as a succession candidate and executive partner to the CIO
- Will help transition work from external vendors to internal teams
- Highly collaborative executive environment with strong business alignment
