Chief Technology Officer

Our client, a highly prestigious financial institution, is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the strategic direction, modernization, and execution of enterprise technology platforms and infrastructure. Reporting as a key member of the senior leadership team, the CTO will ensure technology initiatives align with the organization’s mission, operational excellence goals, and stakeholder engagement objectives.

A primary focus of this role will be overseeing the evaluation, modernization, and enhancement of the organization’s publishing platform, which is central to delivering authoritative accounting guidance and related content. The CTO will also lead efforts to evaluate and implement artificial intelligence technologies that improve research capabilities, content delivery, workflow automation, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will bring strong executive leadership, a client-service mindset, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy \& Leadership

• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with organizational goals and long-term objectives
• Serve as the principal technology advisor to executive leadership and the Board
• Drive initiatives that improve operational efficiency, accessibility, and stakeholder engagement
• Foster a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented technology culture

Publishing Platform Modernization

• Lead the assessment, design, development, and implementation of a modern, scalable publishing platform
• Improve digital content delivery, searchability, usability, and accessibility
• Partner with editorial, research, communications, and standards teams to ensure platform effectiveness

Artificial Intelligence \& Emerging Technologies

• Identify and implement AI solutions that enhance publishing, research, and business operations
• Evaluate AI applications including:
• Knowledge retrieval and research tools
• Content generation and summarization
• Workflow automation
• Establish governance and best practices for secure and responsible AI adoption

Project Execution \& Operational Excellence

• Oversee major technology initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Implement effective project management and governance frameworks
• Manage vendor relationships, procurement activities, and contract negotiations

Leadership \& Collaboration

• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technology teams
• Collaborate closely with leadership and business stakeholders to deliver effective technology solutions
• Promote a strong client-service culture across the technology organization

Communication \& Stakeholder Engagement

• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable business insights
• Present effectively to executive leadership and Board committees
• Build trusted partnerships across internal and external stakeholder groups

Qualifications

Required

• Significant leadership experience in technology strategy, modernization, and execution
• Experience within mission-driven organizations, professional services, publishing, or knowledge-based environments preferred
• Proven success modernizing digital publishing platforms or enterprise content delivery systems
• Strong understanding of artificial intelligence technologies and enterprise AI applications
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technology initiatives from planning through execution
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Collaborative leadership style with a strong service-oriented approach
• Experience building and developing high-performing technology teams

Preferred

• Experience within senior corporate, nonprofit, or professional membership organizations
• Familiarity with enterprise content management systems, digital research platforms, and data architecture
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and modern software development methodologies
• Experience implementing AI-enabled research or knowledge platforms
