Chief Technology Officer, Trading - Limassol

Overview

AP Executive are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technological strategy and execution of our fast-growing trading platform. Based in Cyprus, the CTO will play a critical role in shaping our product innovation, ensuring platform scalability, security, and regulatory compliance, while driving engineering excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company's technology strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
• Lead the architecture, development, and continuous improvement of a high-performance trading platform (including web, mobile, and backend systems).
• Ensure platform reliability, low latency, scalability, and high availability in a 24/7 trading environment.
• Oversee cybersecurity strategy, data protection, and risk management practices, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., CySEC, MiFID II, GDPR).
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering and DevOps team.
• Drive innovation in trading technologies
• Collaborate closely with product, compliance, and executive leadership to deliver seamless user experiences and robust trading functionalities.
• Manage vendor relationships, third-party integrations, and technology partnerships.
• Establish best practices in software development, CI/CD, infrastructure, and quality assurance.
• Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or senior technology leader within fintech, trading, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of trading systems (FX, CFDs, or equities) and market infrastructure.
• Expertise in system architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and microservices design.
• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy, and financial regulatory frameworks.
• Experience building and scaling high-availability, low-latency platforms.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (MBA is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in regulated environments, particularly within the EU or Cyprus.
• Familiarity with trading platforms such as MT4/MT5, or proprietary systems.
