Job Description

About 3LC

3LC illuminates the black box of Physical AI model training. We build the first full-loop platform for AI data preparation and optimization — combining labeling, debugging, and diagnosis so teams can ship better, smaller, faster models.

Across energy, agriculture, manufacturing, and aerospace, machines are learning to see the physical world — inspecting wind turbines, spotting crop disease, checking parts on a manufacturing line. They can only see as well as the data they learn from, and that data is usually messy. 3LC helps computer vision teams find and fix flaws in their training data, so the systems built on it see the world more clearly and reliably — all within the customer's own infrastructure.

We are currently a team of 14, headquartered in Boulder, CO, with a team across Norway and the US, backed by several leading VC firms, and growing fast.

The Opportunity

Our platform runs both managed and inside our customers' own infrastructure, across every major cloud, and as we scale, we need someone who owns how we build, ship, and operate it everywhere it needs to run.

You'll own our cloud and deployment foundation end to end — across

AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud

. You'll design the infrastructure, automate the build and release pipelines, harden how we deploy into customer environments, and get 3LC listed and discoverable on each cloud's marketplace. If you want deep ownership of a genuinely hard multi-cloud problem, this is the role.

This is primarily an in-office role in our Boulder, CO office. Exceptional candidates may work remotely from within the United States

What You'll Do

Own Multi-Cloud Infrastructure

  • Design, build, and operate 3LC's infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud — networking, compute, storage, identity, and cost.
  • Define infrastructure as code with Terraform, and manage configuration with Puppet, so environments are reproducible across all three clouds.
  • Architect for security, reliability, and the realities of deploying into customers' own cloud accounts.

Create and Manage Build and Deployment Pipelines

  • Own CI/CD end to end — primarily on Azure DevOps — for build, test, packaging, and release.
  • Containerize and orchestrate our services with Docker and Kubernetes, packaged and released with Helm.
  • Automate everything that should be automated, using Python, YAML, and Git-based workflows.

Land 3LC on Every Marketplace

  • Create and maintain 3LC's listings on the AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud marketplaces — packaging, metering, entitlements, and updates.
  • Work with product and go-to-market so each cloud's procurement path is smooth for customers.

Keep Us Reliable and Observable

  • Stand up monitoring, logging, and alerting so we catch problems before customers do.
  • Own incident response and post-incident learning (no on-call rotation today).
  • Drive down toil — make the slow, manual, and fragile parts of our deployments fast and boring.

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • 5\+ years in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering.
  • Strong, hands-on proficiency in at least one of the three major clouds — AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud — and working familiarity with the other two.
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production, including Helm-based packaging and releases.
  • Infrastructure as code with Terraform, and configuration management with Puppet.
  • CI/CD pipeline ownership, with hands-on Azure DevOps experience.
  • Strong scripting and automation in Python, comfortable with YAML and Git day to day.
  • A security-first mindset and care for reliability, cost, and maintainability.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience publishing and maintaining cloud marketplace listings (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience deploying software into customers' own cloud environments (BYOC / on-prem-like delivery).
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS / Azure / GCP professional-level).
  • Experience with AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex
  • Background in AI/ML infrastructure, GPU workloads, or data-intensive systems.
  • Familiarity with additional IaC/automation tooling (Ansible, Pulumi, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, etc.).

What We Offer

  • Work on a genuinely hard problem in AI — one that matters — at the infrastructure layer that makes it all run.
  • The cloud and deployment function is yours to build and own.
  • A small, experienced team that moves fast, trusts you, and gives you room to build.
  • Room to grow into a technical leadership role as we scale.

Compensation \& Benefits

  • Salary range: $120,000 – $145,000 per year, depending on experience and location, plus meaningful equity.

Benefits include:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid time off (25 days / 5 weeks) plus company holidays.
  • Equity / stock options

This is a full-time, exempt position.
