Job Description
Our client is seeking a
Compensation Analyst
to join their growing Total Rewards team in Chicago. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven HR professional who enjoys compensation analytics, market benchmarking, and compensation program administration while contributing to a major HR systems transformation. This role offers high visibility across the organization and the opportunity to partner with HR leadership, business stakeholders, and project teams to help shape compensation strategies and support enterprise-wide initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market pricing and salary benchmarking analyses to ensure competitive compensation practices
- Evaluate jobs and maintain compensation structures, salary ranges, and related documentation
- Support annual compensation processes, including merit increases and incentive programs
- Analyze compensation data, including compa-ratios, pay equity, and market competitiveness
- Participate in compensation surveys and maintain external market data resources
- Ensure compensation data accuracy through audits, reporting, and data integrity initiatives
- Develop and maintain compensation reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics
- Support HR technology and systems projects, including ongoing HRIS enhancements and implementation initiatives
- Partner with HR and business leaders to align compensation programs with organizational objectives
- Assist with executive-level reporting, presentations, and compensation-related analyses
- Contribute to process improvement and Total Rewards projects across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3–5 years of compensation, Total Rewards, HR analytics, or related HR experience
- Experience with market pricing, salary benchmarking, and compensation analysis
- Knowledge of merit increase and incentive compensation programs
- Experience analyzing compensation metrics, including compa-ratios and pay equity data
- Strong compensation reporting and data management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, and large data set analysis
- Experience supporting HRIS implementations or system enhancements preferred
- Workday experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
