Job Description
Superintendent
Traveling Role - Southeast US
$80,000 - $100,000
We are working with a well-established commercial general contractor in Central Florida that specializes in retail construction, both ground-up and renovation, for national and regional brands across the Southeast. The company has been building for more than two decades and has grown into a mid-large sized firm with a deep project pipeline and a team of more than 100 construction professionals, while holding onto the relationship-driven culture it was founded on. Candidates get the resources and repeat clients of a larger firm in an environment where every project and every person on the team matters. They are looking for a Superintendent to lead field operations on a dedicated run of Walmart projects, both ground-up and renovation, across their Southeast footprint.
What You'll Do
- Lead day-to-day field operations on Walmart retail and warehouse projects, ground-up and renovation
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, deliveries, and site logistics
- Own the project schedule in the field: sequence the work, run look-ahead schedules, and keep milestones on track
- Enforce site safety, run safety meetings and inspections, and maintain OSHA compliance
- Maintain quality control and manage inspections with local jurisdictions
- Communicate daily with the project management team on progress, issues, and schedule
- Work with the client on occupied-site renovations, minimizing disruption to ongoing store operations
- Manage the punch list and drive project closeout in the field
- Maintain daily logs, photos, and field reports
What You'll Bring
- 5\+ years of experience as a commercial construction Superintendent
- Big box retail experience, ground-up and renovation; open-store or occupied renovation experience a plus
- Prior experience building Walmart stores or similar big box retail projects strongly preferred
- Experience with tilt wall, structural steel, masonry, or pre-engineered metal building construction a plus
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Strong scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Clear communication with project managers, inspectors, clients, and trades
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the Southeast
What You'll Gain
- Salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 based on experience
- Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- A dedicated pipeline of Walmart projects with a long-term repeat client
- A field leadership role with a growing firm where your work is visible and valued
-----
At Framework, we keep it simple: we connect great people with great builders. We're not just filling seats - we're helping construction professionals find real opportunities with companies that value what they bring to the table. Our candidates trust us because we're honest, we follow through, and we never push roles that aren't the right fit. We take the time to understand where you're coming from and where you want to go.
The builders we represent are more than just clients to us. Many of them are friends and longtime partners. If we wouldn't feel confident working for them ourselves, we wouldn't introduce them to the people who trust us with their careers.
On the flip side, our clients count on us to bring high-quality people who are the real deal - both in skill and character. They'll tell you we just get it. We're proud to be the kind of recruiters who do what's right, not what's easy, and we make sure it's a win for everyone involved.
