Construction Superintendent

Our client, a nationally recognized general contractor specializing in large-scale retail construction, is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to oversee projects across the United States.

This role will primarily focus on Walmart remodels, with occasional ground-up retail construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site construction operations from project start through completion
• Manage day-to-day field activities including subcontractor coordination and scheduling
• Maintain and drive the project schedule to ensure timely completion
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to keep projects on track
• Oversee quality control and ensure work meets project specifications
• Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and schedule milestones
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and field partners

Qualifications

• 5\+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
• Experience with retail construction projects strongly preferred
• Experience with remodel/renovation projects in occupied environments
• Ability and willingness to travel nationwide for projects
• Strong understanding of scheduling and the ability to drive project timelines
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Stable work history with reputable contractors

Project Types

Projects will primarily consist of Walmart remodels, with some ground-up retail construction projects. These projects are typically fast-paced and require strong coordination to minimize disruption to active retail operations.

Travel

• Nationwide travel required
• Superintendents are expected to travel to project locations and remain on-site for the duration of each project
