Job Description

About the Role

As the

Content Marketing Specialist

, you keep things moving.

You are the Content Engine

. Galleries land in the inbox, content hits from vendors, events wrap on Saturday night — and by Monday you know exactly what to do with all of it. You’re not waiting for direction on every post. You understand the brand, you know the channels, and you execute with consistency and taste. This isn’t a role for someone who needs to build everything from scratch. The systems exist — a gallery tracking spreadsheet, a Drive folder structure, naming conventions, and SOPs. Your job is to run them with discipline and care while bringing your own creative instincts to every piece of content you touch.

Who We Are

Folklore is a specialty event rental company serving the high-end events market in Southern California. We’re known for distinctive inventory, strong aesthetics, and deep relationships with the planners and clients who shape this industry. Folklore produces extraordinary events every day — and every one of them generates content worth sharing. The problem isn’t a lack of material. It’s having someone who can keep up with it, shape it, and make sure the world sees Folklore the way our clients experience us: original, considered, and impossible to forget. That’s this role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3\+ years of experience in brand/product marketing in a creative, elevated environment or event-related industry
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM/email platforms is a strong plus
  • Experience managing high volumes of visual content — galleries, photography, video assets
  • Strong fluency in Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and LinkedIn — you understand how each platform works and what performs on each
  • Excellent copywriting skills with a proven ability to match and maintain a brand voice
  • Comfortable with in-house photography and basic video production; drone experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Google Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, \& illustrator

What We're Looking For

We want someone who:

  • Lives and breathes events and furniture.
  • Has a genuine connection to the events, weddings, or luxury hospitality world — you understand the clientele and the aesthetic
  • Self-directed — you don’t need to be told to post on Monday because it’s Monday
  • Detail-oriented enough to process 40\+ galleries a month without dropping the ball on tags, naming conventions, or publishing notes
  • Real photography and video skills — you can capture product and lifestyle content that looks intentional, not accidental
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and isn’t afraid to bring bold ideas to the table.

What You’ll Do

  • Social Media (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn)
  • 3–5 original posts per channel per week plus reposts and community content. You manage copy, scheduling, and engagement across all channels — including responding to comments, tagging peers, and amplifying clients and vendors
  • Content Calendar
  • Own and maintain the content calendar. Plan ahead for big features and seasonal pushes. Follow up proactively on galleries rather than waiting for them to land. Keep the team informed on what’s coming.
  • Gallery Processing \& Digital Asset Management
  • Process approximately 40 galleries per month using our existing SOP, naming conventions, and tracking spreadsheet — naming events, tagging photographers, coordinators, vendors, and inventory. Assign product tags, publishing notes, and potential future uses. Maintain the master asset library so images are findable, organized, and ready to deploy.
  • Content Creation \& Copywriting
  • Write copy that sounds like Folklore — elevated, warm, and never generic. Develop original content using in-house photography, drone footage, event captures, and styled shoot assets. Edit for brand voice consistently across every channel.
  • Photography \& Video
  • Capture and edit content using our in-house equipment — DSLR, hover drone, iPhone, and lighting. Attend styled shoots as needed. Edit and prepare images and video for social, website, email, and ads. Product photography is a core skill — the ability to make a chair, a table setting, or a floral arrangement look extraordinary matters here.
  • Email \& Blog Support

-

Support newsletter content, blog posts, and campaign assets as directed by the Brand \& Marketing Manager. Optimize blog content for SEO. Maintain Canva templates and brand asset consistency across all channels.

How We Work

  • Full time, in office — Southern California (this is not a remote position)
  • Content-rich and fast-paced — busy weeks mean a surge of incoming galleries and assets, not a slow drip
  • You’ll report directly to the Brand \& Marketing Manager
  • Some evening and weekend presence required for styled shoots and key events
  • Core values: Work Ethic, Reliability, Winning Attitude, Always Improving
  • This is a growth company — your work is visible, your impact is real
