Job Description

PE-Backed Healthcare Services Platform \| South Florida \| Hybrid (4 days in-office)

Reports to CFO \| Direct line to CEO and PE Sponsor \|Build-out seat

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and growing private equity-backed healthcare platform with a multi-entity consolidation, an active M\&A pipeline, ground-floor systems buildout, and direct line of sight to the CFO, CEO, and sponsor board. This is not a steady-state role. It is the operator-grade build-out seat behind a healthcare services rollup with a clear runway to the next stage.

OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

  • Build-out Controller seat at a PE-backed healthcare services platform consolidating a fragmented South Florida market
  • Direct line to the CFO, the CEO (proven PE-backed healthcare services operator), and the sponsor's deal team. Quarterly board-level visibility; not three layers removed.
  • Active M\&A pipeline. Sponsor is publicly committed to continued add-on acquisitions. The Controller owns opening balance sheets, COA mapping, payroll cutover, and 100-day integration plans for each tuck-in.
  • Ground-floor Business Central 365 \+ Paylocity buildout. Architect the systems backbone of a multi-entity platform, do not inherit and maintain someone else's.
  • Career-defining trajectory. At platform stage, the Controller seat is the natural runway to VP Finance / CFO scope as enterprise value scales.

WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT

This is not a steady-state Controller seat. The platform is still being assembled, and the Controller is being hired to build — not maintain.

  • Build, don't maintain

.

The close process, control environment, consolidated reporting package, and ERP backbone are being designed now. The Controller architects them, not inherits them.

  • Sponsor and board exposure

.

Direct line to the PE deal team and board. Quarterly results, integration progress, and KPI dashboards presented firsthand.

  • M\&A integration scope.

Each incoming tuck-in is the Controller's to integrate end to end, opening balance sheet through reporting cutover.

  • Operational influence

.

True business partner role with the CEO, COO, and operations leadership. Branch-level P\&Ls in operators' hands. Finance at the table, not behind it.

  • Career trajectory

.

At platform stage, this seat is the natural stepping stone to VP Finance / CFO scope as the business scales.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Multi-entity consolidation across 10 legal entities

.

Design and run a clean, repeatable monthly close and consolidated reporting package. Harmonize chart of accounts, accounting policies, and reporting standards across the platform.

  • GAAP financial reporting and audit readiness

.

Own monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to the sponsor. Serve as primary liaison to the external audit and deliver a clean year-end.

  • Internal controls and policy environment

.

Design and maintain a control framework appropriate for a 10-entity platform with active M\&A and continued growth.

  • ERP and systems buildout — Business Central 365 and Paylocity

.

Lead the implementation, integration, and reporting layer. Build the systems backbone that supports the next three to five years of platform growth.

  • M\&A integration leadership

.

Opening balance sheets, COA mapping, payroll cutover, and policy harmonization for each tuck-in. Own the financial side of the 100-day plan.

  • Operational finance partnership

.

Build branch-level P\&L reporting. Translate financial outputs into operational decisions in partnership with operations leadership.

  • Team leadership and buildout

.

Lead and develop the existing accounting and revenue cycle team. Recruit senior talent in year one to scale the function alongside the platform.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE — FIRST 12-18 MONTHS

  • Clean, repeatable monthly close completed by business day 10 across all 10 entities.
  • Clean year-end audit delivered on schedule, with sponsor-grade reporting cadence in place.
  • Business Central 365 and Paylocity stood up, tuned, and producing branch-level P\&Ls in operators' hands weekly.
  • At least one add-on acquisition fully integrated into the consolidated reporting package.
  • Accounting and revenue cycle team strengthened with at least one senior hire and a clear development path for existing staff.
  • Internal controls documented and operating; sponsor and CFO confident in the financial reporting infrastructure as the next phase of M\&A executes.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

Background

  • Healthcare services experience strongly preferred (i.e. skilled nursing, healthcare staffing, DSO, MSO, home health, hospice, DME, behavioral health or physician services.)
  • PE-backed experience Required. Has lived inside the rhythm of sponsor reporting, board cadence, and integration timelines.
  • Multi-entity environment. Has consolidated across at least five legal entities; comfortable in a roll-up.
  • Builder-stage exposure. Has stood up systems, processes, or controls from the ground up rather than inheriting a fully-baked function.

Experience

  • 8\+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 3\+ years in a Controller, Director of Accounting, or VP Accounting seat.
  • Track record leading or substantially contributing to an ERP implementation: Business Central, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or comparable.
  • M\&A integration reps. Has integrated at least one to two acquisitions, opening balance sheet through reporting cutover.
  • Has managed and developed a team of five or more across general accounting and revenue cycle.

Technical

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, multi-entity consolidation, and audit readiness.
  • Microsoft Dynamics Business Central 365 experience is a meaningful advantage given the platform's current implementation cycle. QuickBooks fluency useful for current-state environment.
  • Paylocity or comparable HRIS interface experience a plus.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling fluency.

Disposition and Leadership Style

  • Builder, not maintainer

.

Energized by ambiguity. Finds satisfaction in standing things up.

  • Operator-minded

.

Translates the numbers into operational decisions. Partners with the business, doesn't just report on it.

  • Hands-on

.

Comfortable in the details while developing the team to scale alongside the platform.

COMPENSATION

A competitive package is being designed for the right operator, anchored to the South Florida PE-backed healthcare services market. The structure includes:

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
  • Annual incentive bonus tied to financial and operational milestones.
  • Comprehensive health, retirement, and executive benefits.

Specific ranges will be discussed directly with qualified candidates during the search process.
