We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Controller to lead the accounting function for this PE backed Company. Reporting to the CFO, this role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and delivering accurate, timely financial insights to support executive decision-making and the company’s continued growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including variance analysis and supporting schedules
• Review and validate financial results and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure accuracy and provide actionable insights to leadership
• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and monitor liquidity to support operational and strategic planning
• Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance and scalability
• Support M\&A readiness efforts, including financial diligence preparation, data room support, and integration planning
• Assist in the evaluation of potential acquisitions, including financial modeling, analysis, and collaboration with executive leadership and private equity stakeholders
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, FP\&A, and leadership to drive financial transparency and accountability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Active CPA license is required
• Minimum 8–12\+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
• Experience with PE backed companies in the lower-middle market
• Have worked with companies north of 100M in revenue
• Experience in a professional services, digital agency, or PE-backed environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Demonstrated experience with M\&A transactions or integration support, purchase accounting
• NetSuite experience: they are fresh off a transition from QB to NetSuite
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership
