Role Overview

The Cost Accountant will support Sun Noodle’s manufacturing accounting, product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting processes. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate standard costs, supporting inventory accounting and reconciliations, analyzing manufacturing variances, and assisting with month-end close activities related to inventory and production. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Procurement to ensure accurate reporting and practical analysis. Key Responsibilities

  • Own the standard cost system and ensure product costs accurately reflect current material, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
  • Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations and valuation.
  • Support ERP system enhancements and data accuracy initiatives.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, including material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, production yields, waste trends and cost changes.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to inventory costs.
  • Review bills of material, routings, and manufacturing orders to support costing accuracy.
  • Prepare manufacturing cost reporting, including key trends, variances, and operational cost drivers.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts, cycle count analysis, and audit requests related to inventory and cost accounting.
  • Provide financial analysis for pricing decisions and new product development, including profitability analysis by SKU, customer, and facility.

Experience \& Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 3–5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, and GAAP.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience participating in process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.
  • Self-motivated, with a continuous improvement mindset.
