A Better Opportunity
We’re looking for a
Director of Brand \& Creative Strategy
to lead end-to-end creative for the Marketing organization. This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a lean in-house team while remaining deeply involved in execution.
This role is ideal for a creative leader who can bring clarity to complexity, balance brand and performance, and build scalable creative systems within a regulated fintech environment. You’ll play a key role in elevating the Better brand and driving measurable growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end creative process from insight and strategy through briefing, concepting, production, and launch
- Develop and execute a cohesive brand and performance marketing strategy that differentiates Better in the market
- Serve as the steward of the Better brand across all touchpoints, ensuring high-quality, on-brand, and performance-driven creative
- Lead and mentor a lean, high-impact in-house creative team, driving strong creative judgment, accountability, and growth
- Oversee external agencies and freelancers to ensure work meets quality, brand, and performance standards
- Establish and uphold a high creative bar, ensuring all work meets expectations before release
- Execute and guide creative across channels including web, landing pages, paid social, display, video, direct mail, content, and OOH
- Build scalable creative systems and workflows that enable speed, consistency, and business growth
- Partner cross-functionally with Growth, Product, Lifecycle, Sales, and PR to bring the brand to life across initiatives
- Leverage cultural insights, consumer behavior, and creative trends to inform positioning and campaign development
- Foster a test-and-learn mindset to continuously improve creative performance
- Integrate AI tools and workflows to increase creative output, speed, and effectiveness
- Inspire creativity and innovation across the organization to support growth and differentiation
Qualifications
- 7\+ years leading brand and creative strategy with measurable results
- Experience managing in-house creative teams and full-funnel campaigns
- 5\+ years of people management experience
- Strong performance marketing and brand strategy experience
- Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience across digital, social, video, web, print, and OOH
- B2C experience required; tech or fintech experience preferred
- Experience in fast-paced or agency environments a plus
- Comfort working in regulated industries
- Experience leveraging AI tools in creative workflows
- Ability to work onsite five days per week in NYC
Compensation Range: $215,000 - $280,000
