Job Description

We are partnering with our Portland, OR creative agency client to recruit a Creative Director to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing enterprise clients across B2B and B2C work, curating innovative creative that aligns client brand and vision with brand awareness and experience goals. This role is a blend of tactical creative expertise – pitching to clients, rolling up sleeves in design and content projects as needed, and working closely with cross-functional accounts and strategy teams – and strategic team leadership and mentorship, growing and aligning work across teams of integrated creative direct reports. You will be leading innovation and integrated creative across brand, digital and multimedia channels, and will oversee end-to-end project execution from concept to delivery. To be a fit, you should bring 10\+ years of innovative creative leadership experience with a tactical background in design and art direction. Experience leading teams of integrated creatives is required, and a track record of consulting with clients to align creative with internal team goals and vision is a must. Agency experience is required, but a mix of brand and agency experience is a great fit. Client-facing pitching and presentation skills are paramount.

This organization is experiencing strategic and innovative growth, and you will have the opportunity to expand their creative function! This is a salaried role, with pay ranging from $150,000 to $175,000 annually, based on relevant experience and work. You will:

  • Serve as the senior creative advisor to the client stakeholders and cross-functional agency teams, working with leaders and creative staff to ideate, create and execute on creative projects and brand experiences
  • Consult with new and existing organizations and stakeholders to align agency creative output with project needs, pulling on historical expertise and experience to position the agency as experts in this work; “Wow” clients with work and open opportunity for additional collaboration and projects
  • Lead a group of creative direct reports, ensuring project resourcing is aligned with team member expertise and providing mentorship, coaching, hiring and performance management support for the creative function
  • Leverage your own tactical design and art direction expertise to stay close to the work, jumping in design, content or similar projects as needed
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional agency teams to drive new logo and brand growth, sign new business and ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction

Your experience should include:

  • 10\+ years of creative leadership experience with dedicated experience in agency creative direction
  • Tactical design skills with a preference for a design and art direction background; Comfort with tactical design work and the ability to support team output as needed
  • In-depth experience managing teams of direct reports in design and content, managing hiring, performance and feedback for staff members
  • Track record of expert-level client facing skills, with a history pitching new business, providing feedback and aiding in account and new logo growth in an agency setting
  • Bachelor’s degree, flexible for the right fit and style
  • Digital portfolio highlighting a variety of brand and digital campaign work across industries
