Position Overview
BRDG Studios is seeking a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled
Creative Technologist
(formerly Software Developer/Hardware Integrator) to join our Creative Technology department. This role represents the culmination of digital and physical expertise, with the primary goal of successfully designing, developing, and deploying high-impact creative technology projects both remotely and onsite.
The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of software development, physical hardware integration, and interactive experiential design, helping close the gap between imagination and technical execution for global brands.
Key Responsibilities
1\. System Design \& Technical Architecture
- Lead or assist in defining the most appropriate software architecture for immersive, digital, and physical experiential projects.

- Identify the appropriate physical hardware to ensure the successful delivery of custom installations.

- Electronics assembly and repair tools
- Assess project technical scopes and proactively identify resource or equipment constraints, communicating needs directly to department director and company leadership.
- Advise industrial designers and fabrication teams on critical technological integrations, including heat dissipation, cable interfacing and routing, power configurations, and mounting systems.
2\. Custom Software Development \& Workflow Optimization
- Rapidly develop bespoke software solutions tailored to site-specific experiential activations.
- Evaluate and determine the most stable, performant software frameworks for each distinct project.
- Build software systems with failure in mind. Redundancy and clean failure modes are critical.
- Follow internal programming best practices and ensure those standards are held throughout the internal codebase and with external vendors.
- Maintain cloud and locally stored codebase using git \& google drive.
- Document all code thoroughly enough to be read and superficially understood by laypeople.
- AI Integration:
Actively integrate and leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and automated development models into your day-to-day programming and coding workflows to accelerate prototyping, optimize software architecture, and streamline automated testing.
3\. Vendor \& Freelance Software Integration
- Collaborate with the Digital Producer to outline technical specifications and development frameworks for external vendors or freelance assets.
- Provide clear technical guidance to ensure external partners possess all necessary information to deliver components on schedule.
- Act as the primary technical receiving point for 3rd-party developed assets, taking ownership of quality control (QC), software modification, code optimization, system integration, and deployment documentation.

4\. Hardware Integration \& Deployment Prep
- Seamlessly interface custom and vendor-made software packages with physical interactive components, sensors, displays, and embedded control systems.
- Devise and map out standardized, repeatable technical processes to streamline staging, field testing and future reactivation.
- Meticulously prepare physical computing infrastructure and hardware rigs for deployment via rigorous system layouts, burn-in testing, and detailed quality control protocols (customize windows policy settings).
- Documentation of hardware layouts, bills of materials, wirings and connections guides prior to build / integration.
- Perform risk-assessment for projects and make internal project stakeholders aware of potential risks as early as possible.
5\. Installation, Field Deployment \& Remote Support
- Configure and maintain project systems for flawless onsite execution, including configuring auto-run sequences, remote desktop accessibility, onsite IT infrastructure, automated diagnostic loops, and fail-safe systems design.
- Provide real-time remote technical deployment support to field technicians during live build-outs and ongoing maintenance.
- Travel to physical job sites globally, as required, to lead hands-on high-fidelity technology integration, fine-tuning, and show-ready calibrations.
6\. Documentation \& Continuing Education
- Produce post-project documentation mapping out custom source code, structural wiring paths, networking schematics, and simple troubleshooting/maintenance guides for end-users.
- Continuously research, test, and vet emerging software frameworks, interactive tools, and hardware products to expand the capabilities of BRDG’s physical-digital production pipeline.
- Proactively outline a personal continuing education track to build competency across core industry standard layers (e.g., JavaScript/React/Vue, Notch, TouchDesigner, Video Display Technologies, etc.).
Position Requirements \& Qualifications
- Proven track record of deploying custom hardware/software integrations inside physical spaces, temporary experiential pop-ups, retail interiors, or exhibition activations.
- Strong proficiency in creative coding environments, modern full-stack development, and interactive frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing AI-assisted coding models or programming workflows to enhance output speed and quality.
- Deep understanding of structural AV infrastructure, interactive sensors, LED processors, projection mapping, or real-time media servers.
- Ability to maintain focus and composure under tight studio development and load-in timelines as well as on-going operations..
- Willingness and flexibility to travel domestically and internationally for project installations.
Expectations
- Travel for installation at least once monthly during busy periods.
- Extended shifts beyond 5pm during sprints.
- 2-3 projects running simultaneously.
- Project timelines as short as 1 week, average closer to 5 weeks.
- Interdepartment, vendor, and SME support at all points of workflow.
- Flexibility in hours, comp days, and work from home days when appropriate and within reason.
- On the job training of proprietary documentation and processes.
Compensation \& Benefits
- Base Salary (Experience Dependant):
$85,000 - $95,000 per year, paid in biweekly installments via direct deposit.
