Position Summary
The Operations Manager / Customer Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of order management and domestic logistics execution across multiple distribution channels. This role ensures seamless order flow from entry through fulfillment, working cross-functionally with Sales, Planning, IT/EDI, and 3PL partners to deliver best-in-class service levels.
This is a hands-on leadership role managing a team of 4, while also directly owning and managing a subset of key customer accounts. The ideal candidate is both a strong leader and an operator—able to oversee the broader function while staying close to execution.
In addition to NYC Metro area, candidates based near Gaston, SC would be considered.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Order Management \& Execution
- Oversee end-to-end order lifecycle: order entry, validation, allocation, release, and fulfillment
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders across all channels
- Personally manage a subset of key accounts, ensuring high-touch execution and service
- Manage EDI order flow (850/855/856/810) and resolve exceptions quickly
- Monitor order status and proactively address delays, shortages, or routing issues
- Partner with Sales and Customer Service to ensure high service levels and on-time delivery
Channel Management
- Manage order flow across multiple distribution channels including:
- Major retail (Walmart, Target, etc.)
- Amazon (Vendor Central / Seller Central / FBA support)
- Direct-to-consumer (eCommerce)
- B2B / wholesale
- Ensure compliance with routing guides, labeling, ASN requirements, and retailer-specific rules
3PL \& Warehouse Operations
- Act as primary point of contact for 3PL partners on all outbound operations
- Oversee daily warehouse execution: picking, packing, shipping, and inventory movements
- Monitor 3PL performance (SLAs, OTIF, chargebacks, productivity)
- Partner with 3PL on issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure alignment between internal systems and 3PL WMS
Systems, Data \& Reporting
- Utilize ERP (e.g., Business Central), WMS, and EDI platforms to manage operations
- Build and maintain reporting tools in Excel (advanced level required)
- Track KPIs such as order accuracy, fill rate, OTIF, and fulfillment cycle times
- Support troubleshooting of system issues and data discrepancies
Month-End \& Financial Alignment
- Support month-end close activities related to shipments, invoicing, and accruals
- Ensure all orders are accurately processed and invoiced within the correct period
- Partner with Finance on reconciliation of shipments and revenue recognition
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4 operations/logistics coordinators
- Set clear priorities and performance expectations
- Drive accountability, efficiency, and a culture of continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For:
Education
: Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Experience
:
- 5–8\+ years of experience in operations, customer logistics, or supply chain roles
- Strong experience with order management, EDI, and 3PL operations
- Deep understanding of multi-channel distribution (retail, Amazon, eCommerce, B2B)
- Experience operating in a consumer goods / CPG environment
- Familiarity with 3PL transitions, network changes, or scaling operations
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and fulfillment processes, retailer compliance requirements and chargeback management
- Experience managing direct reports
Tech savviness:
Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel (analyze data, build reports, formulas, pivot tables, etc.), Business Central ERP, and WMS platforms

Salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive set of benefits and incentives. The base salary hiring range for this position is $95,000 -$110,000 but the final compensation offer will ultimately be based on the candidate's location, skill level and experience.
