Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager in a contract role to manage and deliver projects across cybersecurity portfolios. This role partners closely with Security, Enterprise Systems, and Infrastructure teams, as well as cross-campus stakeholders, to drive complex initiatives from initiation through closeout. This is a hybrid role that requires minimum 2 days / week onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects across cybersecurity portfolios including Identity \& Access Management (IAM — encompassing Single Sign-On (SSO), Identity Governance \& Administration (IGA), access control, etc.), HIPAA compliance, and other security-related initiatives
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk registers, RAID logs, and executive status reports in alignment with PMO standards
- Facilitate working sessions, stakeholder updates, and vendor coordination meetings
- Partner with leadership to surface risks, dependencies, and decisions in a timely manner
- Coordinate across technical teams and non-technical campus partners, serving as a clear and consistent communication bridge
- Adapt project management approach to portfolio needs — applying the right level of rigor without over-engineering
- Hybrid role that requires minimum 2 days / week onsite to interface with stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 7\+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years focused on cybersecurity or information security projects
- Demonstrated experience managing projects within an IAM portfolio (SSO, IGA, RBAC, access control frameworks)
- Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and the ability to manage compliance-driven projects across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to translate technical work for diverse audiences
- Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party integrators
- PMP certification or equivalent demonstrated experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education IT environments
- Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or HITRUST
- Hands-on familiarity with IAM platforms such as Okta, SailPoint, CyberArk, or similar
- CISM, CISSP, or other security credential a plus
- Experience working within a formal PMO structure
