Job Description
About Fraym
Fraym generates precise, localized data on demographics, attitudes, and behaviors, down to the town
or village level. Organizations worldwide use our geospatial data to understand social and economic
dynamics, design effective programs, and monitor investments across public health, economic
development, climate resilience, security, and humanitarian response. Through survey research,
geospatial analysis, and AI/ML, we are building scalable data infrastructure for mapping humanity.
The Role
The survey programs you manage will directly power AI/ML models that map demographic and
behavioral patterns across some of the world’s most data-scarce regions. We are looking for a Survey
Operations and Methods Manager to own the execution and continuous improvement of these complex
international survey programs. While primarily managing the full lifecycle of survey execution you will
also collaborate with Data Science to improve our training data. This role is ideal for someone who
enjoys solving operational challenges in globally diverse environments. As a member of a lean and
collaborative Product team, you will have significant ownership and visibility across Fraym’s
operations. This role reports to the VP of Product.
Growth and Trajectory
In Year 1, success means learning Fraym's workflows, building operational ownership over survey
programs, and delivering complex international surveys reliably at scale. By Years 2 and 3, the role
shifts toward designing better surveys, scaling quality assurance, and collaborating strategically with
Data Science on training data and methodologies. Longer term, this is not a coordinator position. As
Fraym scales its geospatial and AI/ML infrastructure, there is a clear path to senior individual
contributor or leadership. We are looking for someone who will grow with the company and own this
capability area. We value thoughtful decision-making, operational ownership, and continuous
improvement.
What You Will Do
- Manage multiple simultaneous survey projects across diverse geographies, timelines, and modes.
- Coordinate external survey vendors and fieldwork partners from setup through final delivery.
- Support questionnaire development, survey design, sample size estimation, and mode selection
alongside Project teams.
- Monitor implementation timelines, risks, budgets, and deliverables; flag issues early.
- Run QA/QC processes for survey data, reviewing for quality, consistency, and completeness.
- Use existing scripts, tools, and AI-assisted workflows to support quality assurance.
- Collaborate with Data Science to improve methods and training data quality over time.
- Identify bottlenecks and improve standard operating procedures and scalability.
- Document workflows, decisions, and project learnings clearly and consistently. What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, geography, public health, political science, development
studies, sociology, data science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 4-6 years of experience in survey operations, research coordination, M\&E, data collection
management, or related roles.
- Track record coordinating complex data collection across multiple stakeholders and timelines.
- Solid understanding of survey methods, survey statistics, and data quality management.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with sharp attention to detail.
- Clear, proactive communication skills suited to a fully remote, cross-functional environment.
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for operational tracking, QA/QC, and analysis.
- Comfort learning and using technical tools, scripts, and AI-assisted workflows.
Preferred
- Experience with international surveys, public opinion research, humanitarian data collection, or
geospatial data programs.
- Experience in fragile, low-connectivity, or operationally complex environments.
- Familiarity with survey platforms (e.g., Alchemer, Dynata, Cint, PureSpectrum, Geopoll) and
project management tools (e.g., ClickUp).
- Exposure to geospatial data, spatial statistics, QGIS, or Python/R for survey operations.
- French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin or other languages relevant to Fraym's work.
