Compensation: $80,000 – $110,000 base, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits and early-stage equity discussed with finalists.

Decimal Systems is an energy-technology company delivering data acquisition, analytics, and AI-driven intelligence to the operators powering the grid of the future. Our founding team brings decades of hands-on experience across Battery Energy Storage (BESS), renewables, utilities, and grid operations — and we are building the platform we always wished we had in the field.

Our custom-built platform is designed as an intelligence layer that sits alongside the historians already running in your plants. We integrate tightly with OSIsoft / AVEVA PI, Canary, Ignition, and other industrial data systems, turning raw operational telemetry into the performance insight that owners, operators, and asset managers can act on.

We are headquartered in North Carolina with a presence in New York, operate fully remote, and serve customers globally with a North America focus to start.

THE ROLE

As our dedicated Project / Operations Manager, you will own the delivery and operational backbone of a fast-moving energy-intelligence and software startup. You will be the person who turns customer commitments into shipped implementations, and who builds the cadence, tooling, and playbooks that let a small team act like a much larger one.

This role is equal parts customer-facing project leadership and internal operations builder. If you thrive on corralling ambiguity, love creating order out of it, and get energy from seeing real industrial systems come online, you will be in the right seat.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

■ Own end-to-end delivery of historian, analytics, and AI-driven deployments across BESS, renewable, and utility customers — from kickoff through go-live and handoff.

■ Build and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, RAID logs, and status reporting that customers and the exec team can actually use.

■ Coordinate across engineering, data, and commercial teams to keep scope, schedule, and quality aligned — and escalate early when they start to diverge.

■ Stand up the operational core of the company: PM tooling, SOPs, onboarding, vendor and contract administration, and lightweight governance that scales with us.

■ Own the customer implementation experience — clear communication, proactive risk management, and no surprises.

■ Partner directly with the CEO on business operations, reporting cadence, and the decisions that shape how Decimal runs day to day.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

■ 7\+ years of enterprise project or operations management experience, with a proven track record of on-time, on-budget delivery.

■ Demonstrated success managing technical implementations in enterprise environments — software, data platforms, industrial systems, or similar.

■ Comfort operating with startup-level ambiguity: you set the process where there isn't one, and you know when to use one instead of inventing one.

■ Excellent written and verbal communication — internal, customer-facing, and executive.

■ Strong command of modern PM / collaboration tooling (Jira, Asana, Monday, Notion, Office 365, etc.).

BONUS POINTS

■ Direct experience in energy — utilities, BESS, renewables, midstream/upstream operations, or grid services.

■ Exposure to industrial data or historian platforms such as OSIsoft / AVEVA PI, Canary, or Ignition.

■ PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.

■ Prior experience at a seed- or Series-A-stage startup.
