About Prima Chefs
Prima Chefs is a three-year-old startup reimagining how restaurant-quality dining reaches people at home. Built around a sustainable, reusable to-go container system, we partner with top restaurants to deliver elevated cuisine while eliminating single-use waste. Our founding team has spent three years building the product, the partnerships, and the vision. Now we’re ready to put someone on the ground to turn that vision into a living, breathing market.
The Role
This is one of the earliest operational hires in the company, and it’s a critical one. You won’t be following a playbook — you’ll be writing it. As Operations Manager, you’ll launch and run our South Florida market from the ground up: building restaurant relationships, hiring and leading a team of 5–10 Customer Success Ambassadors, managing daily logistics, and stepping in personally wherever the work needs doing. Your decisions and your hustle will shape the long-term business plan for how Prima Chefs enters new cities.
This role demands someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who can see the big, long-term strategy while also having the grit to get into the weeds on the ground. You’re in restaurant kitchens. You’re in delivery vehicles. You’re at client doorsteps. You’re not above any task that needs to get done to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Launch the Southern Florida market end-to-end, creating the operational playbook that will scale to future cities
- Build deep relationships with restaurants, chefs, and the local food community — you are Prima Chefs in this market
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of 5–10 Customer Success Ambassadors
- Own all logistics including delivery scheduling, reusable container tracking, and inventory management
- Step in personally for deliveries, client service, and problem-solving whenever needed
- Resolve high-demand client issues quickly and to their complete satisfaction
- Collaborate directly with the founding team on strategy, market feedback, and growth planning
- Track performance metrics and translate on-the-ground learnings into the company’s long-term business plan
- Represent Prima Chefs’ brand, mission, and sustainability values across every interaction
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in restaurants, restaurant technology, or food-and-beverage operations, working directly alongside restaurant operators
- Proven track record of managing teams and multitasking across competing priorities, with the receipts to show it
- Deep knowledge of (or genuine curiosity about) the Southern Florida restaurant scene
- Assertive, clear communicator who inspires confidence, never aggression
- Relentless energy, detail orientation, and a mindset that doesn’t wait for permission to solve problems
- Fearless when facing challenges, with the ingenuity to unwind complex issues through creative problem-solving
- Comfortable making judgment calls and decisions in a fast-moving startup environment
- Willingness to travel and to be embedded in the launch market for extended periods
Compensation \& Benefits
- Salary: $100k/year \+ bonus opportunities
- Equity bonus: $20k-$50k in year one
