About The Role

Coleman Company, Inc. is seeking an IT Director to lead our technology strategy and drive innovation across the firm. This role is at the forefront of Coleman's technological evolution — from modernizing our infrastructure through a transition to cloud-based servers, to championing the adoption of artificial intelligence tools that enhance how our teams design, deliver, and manage projects. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading technology initiatives from start to finish, including cloud migrations, cybersecurity, and AI adoption, while managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional relationships with ease. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the firm's IT strategy in alignment with organizational goals and growth plans.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of all network, server, and cloud infrastructure — including leading the firm's transition to cloud-based server environments.
  • Manage the firm's cybersecurity posture including policies, audits, incident response, and employee training.
  • Evaluate, procure, and oversee deployment of hardware, software, and technology services including engineering platforms (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, etc.).
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of technology resources.
  • Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures across all office locations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and department heads to identify and address technology needs.
  • Manage vendor and third-party relationships including service agreements, licensing, and support contracts.
  • Oversee disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and data protection strategies.
  • Lead IT projects from scope through implementation, including system migrations, upgrades, and new technology rollouts.
  • Provide regular IT status reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Stay current on the latest technological trends and proactively bring forward creative, forward-thinking solutions that keep Coleman competitive and innovative in the AEC industry.
  • Leverage AI tools and platforms to streamline IT operations, accelerate firm-wide technology adoption, and support Coleman's continued growth and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • 10\+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.
  • Strong technical background in network infrastructure, Windows Server, and cloud environments (Azure or AWS), with demonstrated experience leading cloud migration initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise AI tools and platforms
  • Experience managing IT budgets, vendor contracts, and technology projects.
  • Strong creative and strategic thinking skills with a passion for staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
