Job Description

About Upserve:

Upserve is rebuilding the restaurant POS platform for independent full-service restaurants.

Restaurants today are navigating rising labor costs, staffing shortages, operational complexity,

and increasing pressure from fragmented technology systems. Generic retail POS systems are

not built for the realities of hospitality operations. Upserve helps independent restaurants improve service, increase revenue per table, and run more efficient operations through restaurant-native POS, payments, reporting, guest intelligence, and operational workflows designed specifically for hospitality.

We are rebuilding our go-to-market organization with a focus on:

● Operational excellence

● Measurable pipeline generation

● Authentic customer storytelling

● Scalable growth

The Role:

Upserve is seeking an Events \& Social Media Marketing Manager to lead the company’s field

marketing, event strategy, social presence, and community engagement efforts.

This role is responsible for trade shows, webinars, restaurant and partner events, social media strategy, customer storytelling, and real-time brand engagement across hospitality channels.

The ideal candidate combines

strong event execution capability, modern social media instincts, operational discipline, and a genuine appreciation for restaurant and hospitality culture.

This role works closely with Sales, Partnerships, Customer Marketing, Product Marketing, and external agencies/vendors to help build awareness, pipeline, and customer engagement.

What You’ll Own:

Trade Shows \& Field Marketing

● Plan and execute Upserve’s event and trade show strategy including restaurant industry conferences, regional hospitality events, partner events, and customer activations

● Manage booth planning, logistics, vendor coordination, swag, staffing, and on-site execution

● Partner with Sales and BDR teams to maximize meeting bookings, pipeline generation, and post-event follow-up

Webinar \& Virtual Event Programs

●Build and manage educational webinars, product launch events, customer spotlight sessions, and co-marketing events with partners

● Coordinate promotion, registration, content flow, speaker prep, and post-event nurture

Social Media Strategy \& Execution

● Own Upserve’s social media presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging hospitality-relevant platforms

● Develop and manage content calendars, campaign execution, community engagement, and social storytelling

● Create and publish content that highlights restaurant operators, customer success, hospitality culture, product value, and industry trends

Restaurant \& Customer Storytelling

● Capture authentic field content from restaurant visits, customer interviews, trade shows, and hospitality events

● Coordinate customer-generated content including short-form video, testimonials, behind-the-scenes restaurant footage, and operational success stories

● Help make Upserve’s brand feel connected to real restaurant operators

Brand Engagement \& Community Building

● Monitor and engage with conversations across restaurant communities, hospitality social channels, review platforms, and industry conversations

● Help strengthen Upserve’s voice within the restaurant technology ecosystem

● Support PR and thought leadership amplification across social channels

Event Pipeline \& Performance Reporting

● Track event and social performance metrics including attendance, engagement, pipeline contribution, social reach, and content performance

● Partner with RevOps and Marketing on attribution and reporting

Cross-Functional Collaboration

● Partner closely with Sales, Partnerships, Customer Marketing, Product Marketing, RevOps, and Design

● Coordinate with agencies, freelancers, photographers, videographers, and event vendors as needed

What Success Looks Like:

Within the first 6–12 months, this leader will:

● Launch and operationalize Upserve’s field marketing and event program

● Improve social engagement and brand consistency

● Generate measurable event-sourced pipeline

● Build authentic restaurant-focused social storytelling

● Improve webinar and event participation

● Strengthen Upserve’s visibility within restaurant and hospitality communities

● Establish scalable event and social workflows

Required Qualifications:

● 4–7\+ years of event marketing, social media marketing, field marketing, or community

marketing experience

● Experience planning and executing trade shows, webinars, and live events

● Strong understanding of modern social media platforms and content strategy

● Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills

● Ability to manage multiple events and campaigns simultaneously

● Comfort working in fast-moving, cross-functional environments

Preferred Qualifications:

● Restaurant technology, hospitality, events, SaaS, fintech, or SMB technology experience

● Experience creating social-first content, short-form video, or customer storytelling campaigns

● Familiarity with Salesforce, HubSpot/Pardot, Canva, Figma, webinar platforms, and social scheduling tools

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The strongest candidates will combine operational excellence with creative energy, thrive in highly collaborative environments, and genuinely enjoy hospitality culture and restaurant operations.

We are looking for someone who understands how events and social drive both brand and pipeline, can execute at high speed without sacrificing quality, and knows how to make a B2B technology brand feel authentic and human.

This is
