Job Description

Engineering Manager (Gen AI, Portfolio Analytics, Salesforce) \| Prestigious Global Investment Firm \| Boston

One of Boston's most prestigious global investment firms is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team behind their client-facing technology platforms. This firm has been an industry thought leader for nearly 50 years, managing $80\+ billion in AUM for many of the world's most sophisticated institutions and private clients. They're privately owned, lean (about 430 headcount worldwide), and known for their outstanding culture, intellectual curiosity, and academically rigorous approach to investing. This is a high-visibility opportunity to own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery for the platforms that power performance analytics, client relations, distribution, and marketing. You'll lead a team of software engineers in a highly cross functional role that will interface directly with senior leaders and executives across the firm.

The most exciting part of this role: you'll be at the center of this firm's cutting edge Gen AI initiatives. You'll harness Gen AI tools to meet with senior leaders, and rapidly build POCs and MVPs of new tools and dashboards to show them how a new idea or product might transform their workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and day-to-day delivery for client-facing systems (CRM, sales enablement, client portal, and performance analytics platforms)
  • Lead cutting edge Gen AI initiatives — collaborate with senior leaders to identify opportunities, then build POCs/MVPs of new tools and dashboards to bring those ideas to life
  • Manage a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance on design, architecture, and implementation
  • Serve as the primary technology liaison for sales, marketing, client relations, and performance analytics leaders
  • Manage vendor relationships and partner with Security and Risk teams on regulatory and compliance requirements

Skills:

  • 3\+ years of experience leading engineering teams
  • Experience leading an initiative to integrate Gen AI tools and build rapid POCs/MVPs for business stakeholders
  • Exposure to Salesforce (or similar enterprise CRM) — understanding of the platform's strengths, common challenges, and data model
  • Understanding of how a hedge fund or asset management environment works, including baseline investment terminology
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience interfacing with cross functional teams — comfortable engaging senior business and technology leaders and translating business needs into technical solutions

Benefits:

  • Industry leading compensation and benefits
  • Hybrid flexibility in Boston office
  • Chance to lead a high-visibility and impact engineering team, and work directly with senior business and investment leaders
  • Collegiate, collaborative culture with outstanding work life balance and retention
