Job Description

  • Design with Purpose: Define design requirements and hardware specifications based on real customer needs. Your insights will guide the creation of mechanical system architectures that are both functional and user-friendly.
  • Innovate and Create: Dive into the design and development of intricate mechanical assemblies, mechanisms, and components for our electro-mechanical medical devices. Your designs will meet high-performance objectives while ensuring safety and reliability.
  • Master the Materials: Bring your expertise in plastics injection molding, sheet metal, and casting part designs to the table. Your strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) will help us optimize our processes.
  • Analyze Like a Pro: Conduct in-depth mechanical analyses, including tolerance, load, fatigue life, and thermal modeling. Your analytical skills will ensure our products perform consistently in safety-critical applications.
  • Collaborate and Integrate: Work closely with electrical and consumable components to ensure seamless integration. You'll be the glue that holds our designs together.
  • Risk Management: Lead ISO 14971-based risk analysis activities, from identifying inherent hazards to implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Verification and Validation: Collaborate with verification engineers to define test strategies for system verification and validation plans, utilizing requirement tracing methods.
  • Test Case development

Qualification:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5\+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 3\+ years.
  • Experience: A proven track record in electro-mechanical hardware development, ideally in highly regulated industries (think aircraft, automotive, medical device, or defense).
  • Full Lifecycle Knowledge: You've navigated the entire product lifecycle, from concept to post-market handling, and you know what it takes to succeed at each stage.
  • Tooling Know-How: Familiarity with tooling is a plus, and experience as a tool designer will set you apart.
  • CAD Skills: Proficiency in CAD systems for mechanical design and analysis (SolidWorks preferred) is essential.

The expected salary range for this position is between $58,000 to $1,05,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
