Senior Business Analyst:
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to drive complex business and technology initiatives that improve operational efficiency, enhance business processes, and support strategic organizational objectives. This role requires a highly analytical and collaborative professional who can bridge the gap between business and technical teams, facilitate consensus across stakeholders, and lead large-scale analysis efforts from discovery through implementation. The ideal candidate brings strong process improvement expertise, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to influence decision-making across all levels of an organization.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, or Idaho.
Senior Business Analyst Responsibilities:
- Lead business analysis activities for complex, cross-functional initiatives, partnering with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements, evaluate solutions, and support successful delivery.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process discovery activities to document current-state processes and define future-state solutions.
- Analyze business operations, workflows, systems, and data to identify process improvement opportunities, operational efficiencies, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Develop and maintain key project artifacts, including business cases, stakeholder analyses, requirements documentation, process maps, use cases, test plans, and implementation roadmaps.
- Conduct gap analyses and provide strategic recommendations that align business needs with organizational goals and technology capabilities.
- Partner with leadership to evaluate business priorities, assess initiative impacts, and support governance processes, portfolio planning, and investment decisions.
- Collaborate with technical teams, architects, developers, and project managers to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and translated into effective solutions.
- Support system implementations, enhancements, and process changes through acceptance testing, validation activities, issue resolution, and user readiness efforts.
- Analyze financial, operational, and performance metrics to develop dashboards, reports, and presentations that support executive decision-making.
- Lead complex meetings involving multiple departments and levels of leadership, driving alignment and consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.
- Promote continuous improvement through the application of business analysis best practices, process engineering methodologies, and operational excellence principles.
- Mentor and coach less experienced analysts, providing guidance on business analysis techniques, documentation standards, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
Senior Business Analyst Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8\+ years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, systems implementation, requirements management, testing, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated success leading business analysis efforts for large-scale, cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders and business units.
- Strong experience with business process modeling, workflow analysis, requirements elicitation, use case development, and gap analysis methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge of business analysis documentation techniques, including user stories, process maps, test cases, requirements traceability, and functional specifications.
- Experience developing executive-level presentations, dashboards, business cases, and reports that influence strategic decisions and organizational priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience supporting Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Familiarity with process improvement frameworks such as Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies preferred.
- Experience with Technology Business Management (TBM), business capability modeling, or related strategic planning frameworks preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, navigate organizational complexity, and drive consensus across cross-functional teams.
- Experience within healthcare, health insurance, payer operations, authorization workflows, or utilization management environments preferred.
- Experience utilizing Availity within authorization, eligibility, or healthcare operations processes is preferred.
