Cloud Engineer

Overview

Join a global technology organization powering a large-scale digital ecosystem used by millions of users worldwide. As part of the platform engineering team, you will help build and operate the cloud infrastructure that drives high-traffic services at massive scale. The role focuses on designing and running highly scalable virtualization and cloud platforms that support globally distributed systems. Working alongside talented engineers across multiple teams, you’ll help advance automation, reliability, and performance for mission-critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy large-scale infrastructure clusters while optimizing cost, capacity, and redundancy
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies to improve platform performance and functionality
• Standardize and automate infrastructure and service management processes
• Monitor and maintain production infrastructure environments
• Troubleshoot incidents and ensure service reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system architecture design

Qualifications

• Strong Linux/Unix system administration experience
• Experience working with VMware (ESXi, vCenter), Nutanix (AHV, AOS), or similar virtualization platforms
• Understanding of virtualization and cloud infrastructure
• Scripting experience using Python or Shell
• Experience with automation and configuration tools (e.g., Chef, Ansible, Terraform)
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI
• Experience monitoring systems and troubleshooting production incidents
• Business-level Japanese and English

Preferred

• Experience with cloud platforms (OpenStack, AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Knowledge of networking protocols and infrastructure
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems
• Experience managing databases or data platforms (e.g., MySQL, Cassandra, Oracle, Couchbase, Hadoop, Kafka)
• Experience working in Agile environments or leading technical initiatives
